73. בָּכָה רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, אָמַר, אֵי חָסִיד קָדוֹשׁ, אַהֲרֹן מָשׁוּחַ שֶׁל הָאֵל הַגָדוֹל, בַּחֲסִידוּתְךָ נָפְלוּ כַּמָּה מֵהָעָם הַקָּדוֹשׁ, וְאַתָּה לֹא הָיִיתָ יוֹדֵעַ לְהִשָּׁמֵר. מֶה עָשׂוּ? כְּשֶׁהִגִּיעוּ שֵׁשׁ שָׁעוֹת וְהַיּוֹם הָיָה בְּמִשְׁקָל, לָקְחוּ אֶת אוֹתוֹ זָהָב שֶׁפָּרְקוּ מֵאָזְנֵיהֶם. מָה הַטַּעַם? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁמִּי שֶׁצָּרִיךְ לַעֲשׂוֹת כִּשּׁוּף, לֹא מִתְבַּקֵּשׁ לָחוּס עֵינוֹ עַל מָמוֹן. וְהֵם אוֹמְרִים, הַשָּׁעָה עוֹמֶדֶת לָנוּ, אִם אֵינֶנּוּ מְעַכְּבִים. זוֹ אֵינָהּ שָׁעָה לָחוּס עַל הַזָּהָב. מִיָּד – וַיִּתְפָּרֲקוּ כָּל הָעָם. מַה זֶּה וַיִּתְפָּרֲקוּ? כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (מלכים-א יט) מְפָרֵק הָרִים וּמְשַׁבֵּר סְלָעִים, שֶׁהִשְׁחִיתוּ וְשָׁבְרוּ אֶת אָזְנֵיהֶם. בָּכָה כְּמִקֹּדֶם וְאָמַר, אֵי עַם קָדוֹשׁ שֶׁל הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא.
\n74. פָּתַח רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן בִּבְכִיָּה וְאָמַר, (שמות כא) וְהִגִּישׁוֹ אֲדֹנָיו אֶל הָאֱלֹהִים וְגוֹ’. הֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהָ הַחֲבֵרִים, הָאֹזֶן שֶׁשָּׁמְעָה בְּסִינַי (ויקרא כה) כִּי לִי בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עֲבָדִים וְגוֹ’, וְהוּא פָּרַק עֹל מַלְכוּת שָׁמַיִם מֵעָלָיו וּמָכַר עַצְמוֹ לְאַחֵר – תֵּרָצַע. וְאֵלּוּ הָרְשָׁעִים הַחַיָּבִים, אֲנָשִׁים רָעִים, בִּתְשׁוּקָתָם לַחֲזֹר לְסִרְחוֹנָם לֹא רָצוּ מִנְּשֵׁיהֶם וּבְנֵיהֶם אֶלָּא הַשְׁחָתַת דַּרְכָּם (אָזְנֵיהֶם), וְהִתְפָּרְקוּ מֵעֹל שֶׁל שָׁמַיִם שֶׁצִּוָּה אוֹתָם מֹשֶׁה וְשָׁבְרוּ אָזְנֵיהֶם, שֶׁאֵין לָהֶם חֵלֶק בַּשֵּׁם הַקָּדוֹשׁ וְהָעָם הַקָּדוֹשׁ.<\/div>\n

\n“Rabbi Shimon cried, and said, “Aaron, the Holy anointed of God. Even with your righteousness, you couldn’t protect yourself, and many from Israel<\/a> died.”
\nRabbi Shimon continues to explain what the wizards of the Erev Rav did. They waited for the midday when the sun in the middle of the sky and did not lean either to the east or to the west. Then took the gold they removed from their ears and handed it to Aaron.
\nThe Zohar explains that those who want to make magic don’t bother by the cost. They knew that the timing was on their favor and immediately ripped the gold from their ears, ignoring the pain.

\n“כִּי לִי בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עֲבָדִים עֲבָדַי הֵם אֲשֶׁר הוֹצֵאתִי אוֹתָם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.”
\n“’For the sons of Israel<\/a> are My servants; they are My servants whom I brought out from the land of Egypt. I am YHVH<\/a> your God.”
\nThe people received the Torah on Mount Sinai and heard the words of the Torah with their ears. By tearing the gold from their ears, they made a flaw in the ears that listened to the commandment of “You shall have no other gods before me.”. Now they follow another god, disconnecting from the Holy and true God and the Holy children of Israel<\/a>.
\nLesson;
\nWe were born in the ‘Image’ of God, meaning that our mortal body is parallel to our spiritual body. When we do negative actions using any part of our body, we make a flaw in the aspect of the spiritual body. That requires a matching correction.
\nIf we listen to a lot of gossip and evil speech, we need to speak and listen to the sacred Torah and Zohar text to correct the flawed ‘ear’. If we took from others without proper pay\/earning, we need to give back on the same spiritual level.
\nThe study of Zohar and giving Tzedaka help in correcting almost all transgressions, because the high light revealed, ‘wash’ away and correct the ‘flaws’ as needed.
\nThis is one of the aspects of “An eye for an eye”, “a tooth for a tooth”.
