72. אָמַר רַבִּי יְהוּדָה, מָה הַטַּעַם? אִם תֹּאמַר מִשּׁוּם עָגְמַת נֶפֶשׁ שֶׁל הַבְּהֵמָה, אָז נִשְׁחַט אֶת זֶה בְּבַיִת אֶחָד וְאֶת הַהוּא בְּבַיִת אַחֵר, אוֹ אֶת זֶה עַכְשָׁו וְאֶת זֶה אַחַר כָּךְ. אָמַר לוֹ, יֵשׁ מִי שֶׁמַּתִּיר, וְלֹא כָּךְ, אֶלָּא בְּיוֹם אֶחָד מַמָּשׁ.
\n73. בֹּא רְאֵה, יָפָה תַּעֲנִית לַחֲלוֹם כְּאֵשׁ לַנְּעֹרֶת. וְעִקַּר הַתַּעֲנִית הִיא בְּאוֹתוֹ יוֹם מַמָּשׁ, וְלֹא בְיוֹם אַחֵר. מָה הַטַּעַם? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁאֵין לְךָ יוֹם לְמַטָּה שֶׁלֹּא שׁוֹלֵט בּוֹ יוֹם אַחֵר עֶלְיוֹן. וּכְשֶׁהוּא שָׁרוּי בְּתַעֲנִית חֲלוֹם, לָמַדְנוּ שֶׁאוֹתוֹ יוֹם לֹא מוּסָר, עַד שֶׁמִּתְבַּטֶּלֶת אוֹתָהּ גְּזֵרָה. וְאִם דּוֹחֶה אוֹתָהּ לְיוֹם אַחֵר, הֲרֵי שִׁלְטוֹנוֹ שֶׁל הַיּוֹם הָאַחֵר הוּא, וְלֹא נִכְנָס יוֹם בְּיוֹם אַחֵר שֶׁל חֲבֵרוֹ. כְּמוֹ זֶה, אֵין לְךָ יוֹם שֶׁלֹּא הִתְמַנָּה עָלָיו יוֹם עֶלְיוֹן לְמַעְלָה. וְצָרִיךְ אָדָם לְהִשָּׁמֵר שֶׁלֹּא יַעֲשֶׂה פְגָם בְּאוֹתוֹ הַיּוֹם, וְלֹא יִפָּגֵם לִפְנֵי שְׁאָר הַיָּמִים הָאֲחֵרִים.<\/div>\n

\nLeviticus 22:28<\/a>
\n“וְשׁוֹר אוֹ שֶׂה אֹתוֹ וְאֶת בְּנוֹ לֹא תִשְׁחֲטוּ בְּיוֹם אֶחָד.”
\n“But, whether it is an ox or a sheep, you shall not kill both it and its young in one day.”
\nThe Torah forbids the slaughtering an ox or sheep and their young on the same day. The young usually follows the mother<\/a> and the relationship is clear, but there are always doubts about who is the father. This Torah law established to avoid removing the ‘tree’ and the ‘branch’ on the same day\/time.

\nRabbi Yehuda asks; what’s the reason for this law and adds that if we think about the grief of the animal then it can be done in two separate places or one after the other, but the matter here is to not slaughter on the same day to separate the process of one from the other.

\nRabbi Yehuda continues to explain that fasting is good to cancel bad dreams. Fasting is like a fire that consumes chaff. The fasting should be done on the same day and not later. The reason is that each day in this world has a specific force that controls it and not another. By the end of the fasting day, the decree that was revealed in the dream is canceled. The fasting cannot be postponed to another day, because the forces of each day don’t have control over each other.
\nIt is important for us to keep each day ‘clean’ from negativity and add positive deeds to it because each day is a testimony that is used when we are judged above.
\nLesson;<\/strong>
\nThe spiritual law that the Zohar teaches us here is that if we clean our actions before the end of the day, it won’t go on our ‘records’. If we don’t cleanse the negativity on the same day, the record is written and a process of correction is applied.
\nFasting, repentant and immediate corrective action is important to keep our records clean and avoid harsh correction to come later from above.
\nWe mentioned fasting as a form of cleansing. It is good for us because fasting disconnects our desire for the material world and expose our soul for proper cleansing. We should act immediately when we realized that we did something wrong. We ask for forgiveness immediately if we hurt other people in one way or another. We give Tzedakah with the consciousness of repentance<\/a> and wish to remove the judgment that we created. We give Tzedakah to connect t the Tree of Life<\/a> and draw light from Yessod<\/a> that shines on our soul and purifies it. A very important daily activity is to study before going to sleep and do the bedtime Shema<\/a>.
