We have 40 days of <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Teshuva&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Repentance. &amp;#039;&#1514;&#1513;&#1493;&#1489;&#1492;&amp;#039;. The Hebrew word literally means &amp;#039;Return&amp;#039; to represent the aspect of leaving the bad way and returning to the righteous ways taught in the Torah.&nbsp; We can do Teshuva every day before going to sleep. It helps cleanse the soul from negative &amp;#039;attachments&amp;#039; and support a new beginning in the following day.The most basic and yet powerful repentance is saying&amp;quot;&#1495;&#1464;&#1496;&#1464;&#1488;&#1514;&#1460;&#1497; &#1506;&#1464;&#1493;&#1460;&#1497;&#1514;&#1460;&#1497; &#1508;&#1464;&#1468;&#1513;&#1463;&#1473;&#1506;&#1456;&#1514;&#1460;&#1468;&#1497;&amp;quot;&amp;quot;chata&amp;#039;ti aviti pasha&amp;#039;tti&amp;quot;Loosely translates to &amp;quot;I have sinned, I did wrongs, I did crimes&amp;quot;. Call upon Him while He is near.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The sages teach us that during the month of Elul, God is with us, and it&rsquo;s the best time to pray and plead with God to forgive our past sins and accept our prayers.<\/p>\n<p>The &lsquo;Sefat Emet,&rsquo; &#1495;&#1493;&#1491;&#1513;,&amp;quot; &amp;quot;Rosh Chodesh,&amp;quot; literally means &amp;quot;the head of the month,&amp;quot; new moon.The first day of the Hebrew month. The day of the new moon or immediately after. When the new moon starts on the last day of the month, we celebrate two days of Rosh Chodesh. In such a case, the second day is always the first day of the new month.On Rosh Chodesh, a new light appears in the world, and as the celestial element closer to earth, we are strongly affected by its position to other planets and distance from earth.It&amp;#039;s a positive day, and we make more studies and spiritual connections to draw greater Light on this day. In the Holy Temple, the priest sacrificed a goat to give the other side something to get busy with while we benefit from the Light revealed on that day. It&amp;#039;s a good day to give Tzedakah and light candles for Tzadikim. Joseph is the chariot (vehicle) for the sefira of Yessod. He controlled the sustenance of Egypt and the world, and he is a channel of sustenance.We connect to Yessod through studies, Tzedaka, and Tzadikim.Friday is Yessod of the week.
