67. מִצְוָה לְיִרְאָה (ה) בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל וּבְדֶרֶךְ פְּרָט. וַהֲרֵי יִרְאָה בֵּאַרְנוּ, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁיֵּשׁ עַל הָאָדָם לִפְחֹד מִלִּפְנֵי הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא תָּמִיד, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (דברים כח) לְיִרְאָה אֶת הַשֵּׁם הַנִּכְבָּד וְהַנּוֹרָא הַזֶּה אֵת ה’ אֱלֹהֶיךָ. וּבִשְׁבִיל יִרְאָה זוֹ יִשָּׁמֵר בִּדְרָכָיו. וְיִרְאָה, מָקוֹם הוּא שֶׁנִּקְרָא יִרְאָה, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁשָּׁם נִמְצֵאת יִרְאַת הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, הִיא יִרְאַת ה’ לִירָא מִמֶּנּוּ, וְזֶהוּ סוֹד הַכָּתוּב (ויקרא יט) וּמִקְדָּשִׁי תִּירָאוּ. בַּיִּרְאָה הַזּוֹ שְׁרוּיָה מַכַּת אֵשׁ, לְהַלְקוֹת אֶת הָרְשָׁעִים שֶׁלֹּא שׁוֹמְרִים מִצְווֹת הַתּוֹרָה, וְעַל זֶה בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל יֵשׁ לִירָא.
\n68. וְאַחַר כָּךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ פְּרָט, כְּשֶׁיּוֹדֵעַ הָאָדָם מַהִי יִרְאַת ה’, וְזוֹהִי יִרְאָה שֶׁל חֲבִיבוּת, שֶׁהִיא עִקָּר וִיסוֹד לֶאֱהֹב אֶת הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא. (אַחַר) יִרְאָה זוֹ עוֹשֶׂה כְּדֵי לִשְׁמֹר כָּל מִצְווֹת הַתּוֹרָה, לִהְיוֹת אָדָם עֶבֶד נֶאֱמָן לַקָּדוֹשׁ-בָּרוּךְ-הוּא כָּרָאוּי. (יִרְאָה)<\/div>\n

\nThe precept to be with fear and awe to YHVH<\/a> is expressed in global and private aspects.
\nLeviticus 19:30<\/a>
\n“אֶת שַׁבְּתֹתַי תִּשְׁמֹרוּ וּמִקְדָּשִׁי תִּירָאוּ אֲנִי יְהוָה”
\n“’You shall keep My sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am YHVH<\/a>.”
\nThe global aspect is the fear form punishment. Malchut<\/a> is where we have the freedom to choose between good and bad. The wicked people that don’t follow the Torah are hit with a whip of fire. They are punished\/corrected for their ways that go against the spiritual laws of the Torah. The good people are rewarded and earn merits.

\nThe ‘private’ aspect of awe to YHVH<\/a> is achieved when a person follow the ways of God with love, knowing their benefits, not just because of the fear of punishment.
\nLesson:
\nWhen we love love YHVH<\/a> and follow the laws of the Torah we become like servants living in the palace of the king. We are always protected and provided. Outside the palace we are hit with whips of fire.
