\n“וְעָבַר בָּהּ, נִקְשֶׁה וְרָעֵב; וְהָיָה כִי-יִרְעַב וְהִתְקַצַּף, וְקִלֵּל בְּמַלְכּוֹ וּבֵאלֹהָיו–וּפָנָה לְמָעְלָה”
\n“and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward.”
\nThe idol worshipers of the world curse their gods when they come to a state of hunger and poorness. The Israelites<\/a> have the covenant and they know that they will have salvation.
\nThe word for ‘poor’, ‘עני’ also means ‘עינוי’, ‘torture’. Even if a person is rich, he may suffer other aspects of poorness that can be manifested in poor health, difficult relationships and other kinds of hardships.

\n“אִיּוֹב, לֹא-בְדַעַת יְדַבֵּר; וּדְבָרָיו, לֹא בְהַשְׂכֵּיל”
\n“’Job speaks without knowledge, And his words are without wisdom.”
\nAnother type of poor is one that lost יis ‘Da’at’, ‘knowledge’. Da’at is the Sefira that brings down the light from the upper three sefirot. A disconnection from Da’at means separation from the upper 9 sefirot that the Shechina in Malchut<\/a> needs in order to give us support. Da’at spreads down the central column and considered to be the Torah that have the 613 precept that connect us to the Light. Another type of poor is one who doesn’t follow the precepts that draw Chassadim<\/a> for us. This aspect of poorness breaks the ‘Oneness’ ‘אחד’ that we have with the light. The word ‘אחד’, ‘One’, is broken and the ‘ד’. Dalet separates from ‘אח-ד’. The ‘אח’, numerically 9 represents the 9 sefirot of light and the Torah. Malchut<\/a> is ‘ד’ and poor without ‘יהוה’, ‘YHVH<\/a>’ that is the Light that shines in Malchut<\/a>. It this stat eof ‘poorness’ the Shechina left with ‘אדני’, ADNY, the name of God that represents judgment in Malchut<\/a>.
\nThe ability to be in state of poorness means that we can have bigger and empty vessel with ability to draw greater light. Those who have fulfilment in this world have less or no desire for the light. When we feel lack of fulfilment, it means that we have to make greater efforts to connects and draw light.
\nGod ‘play’ with us by keeping us in different states of lack so we will work harder to connect and draw from his light.
