139. כְּמוֹ שֶׁתְּפִלִּין שֶׁל רֹאשׁ, שֶׁהוּא בִּינָה עַל תִּפְאֶרֶת, מִצַּד שֶׁל עֵץ הַחַיִּים שֶׁל אֲצִילוּת, וּמַלְכוּת תְּפִלָּה שֶׁל יָד – כָּךְ לְמַטָּה בְּעֵץ הַחַיִּים שֶׁל בְּרִיאָה, מִצַּד הַכִּסֵּא הָעֶלְיוֹן, תְּפִלִּין שֶׁל רֹאשׁ מְטַטְרוֹן. תְּפִלִּין שֶׁל יָד שֶׁלּוֹ, כִּסֵּא תַּחְתּוֹן. וְזֶהוּ מַה שֶּׁאָמַר עָלָיו הַנָּבִיא, (ירמיה יז) כִּסֵּא כָבוֹד מָרוֹם מֵרִאשׁוֹן.

\nThe Tefillin of the head have the essence of the Light from Binah<\/a> that is the Tree of Life<\/a> of Atzilut<\/a> (Emanation<\/a>). The Tefillin of the hand are the aspect of Malchut<\/a>.
\nIn the world of B’riah (Creation), the Tefillin of the head connects to Metat-<\/a>. The Zohar quotes Jeremiah 17:12<\/a> to tell us that the Tefillin of the hand is the Malchut<\/a> of B’riah, which is the throne of Metat-<\/a>.
\n“כִּסֵּא כָבוֹד מָרוֹם מֵרִאשׁוֹן מְקוֹם מִקְדָּשֵׁנוּ”
\n“A glorious throne on high from the beginning Is the place of our sanctuary.”

\nFrom the aspect of the Tree of Knowledge Good and Bad, the evil inclination is ‘strapped’ under the good like a slave bound to his master.
\nThe ‘voice’ of Torah, prayers, Shofat and Mitzvah is like a spear that stab and kill the negative side.
\nThe sound of the Shofar<\/a> is of the Central column, Zeir Anpin<\/a>. It includes the elements of fire, water and air for Geburah, Chessed<\/a> and Tiferet<\/a> and the Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and jacob. The air blown into the Shofar<\/a> and makes the sound has the warmth that is the aspect of fire and the left, Isaac. The moisture in the air that comes from the lungs into the Shofar<\/a> is the aspect of water, Chessed<\/a>.
\nThe air includes the other two and for that it represents Jacob, the center and Zeir Anpin<\/a>.
\nLesson:
\nThe Shofar<\/a> blowing on Rosh Hashanah has three sets of 30 blowings to cover for all the possible variations of the blowing and the three columns<\/a>. Spiritually (according to halacha, as I heard from rabbi Ben Zion<\/a> Mutzafi) listening to 30 blowings (one set) would be sufficient to give us the protection that we need. Obviously 3×30 + 1 + proper consciousness is the best.
