40. עוֹד פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (שיר ח) מַיִם רַבִּים לֹא יוּכְלוּ לְכַבּוֹת וְגוֹ’. מַיִם רַבִּים – זוֹ זְרוֹעַ יָמִין שֶׁצָּרִיךְ לִקְשֹׁר בָּהּ קֶשֶׁר שֶׁל תְּפִלָּה עַל זְרוֹעַ שְׂמֹאל, לְקַיֵּם וִימִינוֹ תְּחַבְּקֵנִי. דָּבָר אַחֵר מַיִם רַבִּים – זֶהוּ הַנָּהָר הָעֶלְיוֹן שֶׁמִּמֶּנּוּ יוֹצְאִים נְהָרוֹת לְכָל הָעֲבָרִים, וְכֻלָּם שׁוֹפְעִים וְנִמְשָׁכִים מִמֶּנּוּ, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (תהלים צג) מִקֹּלוֹת מַיִם רַבִּים. מֵאוֹתָם קוֹלוֹת שֶׁל מַיִם רַבִּים שֶׁיּוֹצְאִים וְנִמְשָׁכִים מִמֶּנּוּ, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר נָשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת וְגוֹ’.
\n41. אִם יִתֵּן אִישׁ אֶת כָּל הוֹן בֵּיתוֹ בָּאַהֲבָה – שֶׁאוֹהֶבֶת כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא – יָבוּזוּ לוֹ. בּוֹז יָבוּזוּ לוֹ?! יָבוּז הָיָה צָרִיךְ לִהְיוֹת! אֶלָּא אִם יִתֵּן אִישׁ – זֶה הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא. אֶת כָּל הוֹן בֵּיתוֹ, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (משלי כד) כָּל הוֹן יָקָר וְנָעִים. בָּאַהֲבָה – שֶׁל כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵלָיו וְלֹא לְהִתְקַשֵּׁר עִמָּהּ, בּוֹז יָבוּזוּ לוֹ – כָּל אוֹתָם אוּכְלוּסִים וְכָל אוֹתָם מַחֲנוֹת שֶׁלְּמַעְלָה לְאוֹתוֹ הוֹן יָקָר, שֶׁהֲרֵי אֵין רָצוֹן לְכֻלָּם אֶלָּא בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁמִּתְקַשֶּׁרֶת כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל עִם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא וּמִתְעַטֶּרֶת עִמּוֹ, וְאָז כָּל אוֹתָם הָאוּכְלוּסִים וְכָל אוֹתָם הַמַּחֲנוֹת וְכָל הָעוֹלָמוֹת, כֻּלָּם בְּשִׂמְחָה, בְּאוֹר וּבִבְרָכוֹת, (וְעַל זֶה אָמַר) כָּתוּב שְׂמֹאלוֹ תַּחַת לְרֹאשִׁי וִימִינוֹ תְּחַבְּקֵנִי.<\/div>\n

\n“מַיִם רַבִּים לֹא יוּכְלוּ לְכַבּוֹת אֶת הָאַהֲבָה וּנְהָרוֹת לֹא יִשְׁטְפוּהָ אִם יִתֵּן אִישׁ אֶת כָּל הוֹן בֵּיתוֹ בָּאַהֲבָה בּוֹז יָבוּזוּ לוֹ.”
\n“Many waters cannot quench love, Nor will rivers extinguish it; If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love, It would be utterly despised.”
\n‘Many waters’ is the aspect of the Right hand that we use to wrap the Tefillin on the Left hand as it says (Songs 2:6<\/a>) ”וִימִינוֹ תְּחַבְּקֵנִי,” “and his right arm embraces me.”
\nAnother explanation is that ‘many waters’ is the aspect of the supernal<\/a> river that is the source for many rivers that come out of it to all directions, as it says in Psalms 93:4<\/a> “מִקֹּלוֹת, מַיִם רַבִּים–אַדִּירִים מִשְׁבְּרֵי-יָם; אַדִּיר בַּמָּרוֹם יְהוָה”, “More than the sounds of many waters, Than the mighty breakers of the sea, YHVH<\/a> on high is mighty.”
\nPsalms 93:3<\/a>
\n“נָשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת, יְהוָה–נָשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת קוֹלָם יִשְׂאוּ נְהָרוֹת דָּכְיָם”
\n“The rivers have lifted up, O YHVH<\/a>, The rivers have lifted up their voices, The waters lift up their pounding waves.”
\nThe waters carry the Light from the supernal<\/a> spring of Light that is Binah<\/a> through the ‘rivers’ that are the sefirot of Zeir Anpin<\/a>, ‘Voices,’ to Malchut<\/a>.

\n‘If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love,’ refers to the Holy One Blessed be He that gives his light for love to the Shechina and the congregation of Israel<\/a>, Malchut<\/a>.
\nThe word ‘ביזה’ is translated here as ‘despise’ but it also means ‘Loot’ that is a reference to the lights of Chassadim<\/a> that is revealed with this love of YHVH<\/a> to Malchut<\/a> and bring joy, light, and blessings to all the worlds and levels between Chokmah<\/a> and Malchut<\/a>.
\nLesson;
\nThe love and ‘Devekut’ to YHVH<\/a> is a love that fills up the whole world. The Light that he sends back to us is the ‘loot’ that we are happy to collect.
\nThe Zohar study is a form of engaging with love to YHVH<\/a> and building ‘Devekut’. When we are open to it, we begin to feel this love deeply. It may take time for new students but when it grows, it can’t be extinguished.
