198. בַּתְּחִלָּה עֶבֶד – לְסַדֵּר שֶׁבַח לִפְנֵי אֲדוֹנוֹ וּלְזַמֵּר לְפָנָיו, וְזֶה בַּתִּשְׁבָּחוֹת שֶׁלִּפְנֵי הַתְּפִלָּה. אַחַר כָּךְ עֶבֶד לְאַחַר שֶׁהִתְפַּלֵּל תְּפִלַּת עֲמִידָה, הוּא עֶבֶד שֶׁסִּדֵּר תְּפִלַּת אֲדוֹנוֹ. אַחַר כָּךְ עֶבֶד אַחַר שֶׁהִתְפַּלֵּל כָּל תְּפִלָּתוֹ וְהָלַךְ לוֹ. וְעַל זֶה עָשָׂה עַצְמוֹ דָּוִד שָׁלֹשׁ פָּעָמִים בִּתְפִלָּה זוֹ עֶבֶד, שֶׁכָּתוּב הוֹשַׁע עַבְדְּךָ אַתָּה אֱלֹהַי. שַׂמֵּחַ נֶפֶשׁ עַבְדֶּךָ. וְכָתוּב (תהלים פו) תְּנָה עֻזְּךָ לְעַבְדֶּךָ. הֲרֵי שָׁלֹשׁ פְּעָמִים צָרִיךְ לָשִׂים עַצְמוֹ עֶבֶד.

\n“Preserve my soul, for I am godly. You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You.”

\n“שַׂמֵּחַ נֶפֶשׁ עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי אֵלֶיךָ אֲדֹנָי נַפְשִׁי אֶשָּׂא.”

\nA person should start his prayer as a servant praising his master. The Psalms that we recite at the beginning of the prayer before the Amida<\/a>, which is the silent prayer, are praises to YHVH<\/a>. After the Amida<\/a>, we are back to a state of a servant, and the third time as a servant after the entire prayer.
\n‘Save your servant’ (Psalms 86:2<\/a>), ‘bring joy to your servant’ from Psalms 86:4<\/a>, and ’grant Your strength to Your servant’ (Psalms 86:16<\/a>) represent the three times we pray as servants before God.

\n“פְּנֵה אֵלַי וְחָנֵּנִי תְּנָה עֻזְּךָ לְעַבְדֶּךָ וְהוֹשִׁיעָה לְבֶן אֲמָתֶךָ.”

\nDuring the Shema Israel<\/a> prayer, we set ourselves as Martyrs, ready to give our souls for the process of unification with the Light.
\nWhen we start the Shema Israel<\/a> prayer we meditate to accept the four types of death. during the first words of the Shema. This meditation is considered for us as if we gave our souls as martyrs.<\/p>\n

\nThe Amida<\/a> is at the level of Atzilut<\/a>. To open doors for our prayers in this high level we need to pray as poor and needy with a broken heart to be included with the prayer of the poor that easily pass the gates of prayers in heavens.<\/p>\n
