It&rsquo;s done to purify them and have the merit for the Resurrection.<br>\nThe Zohar also quotes<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/%20Ecclesiastes.12.1?lang=bi&amp;with=all&amp;lang2=en\" target=\"_blank\"> Ecclesiastes 12:1<\/a> saying &ldquo;Remember also thy Creators in the days of thy youth, While that the evil days come not, Nor the years have arrived, that thou sayest, &lsquo;I have no pleasure in them.&rsquo;&rdquo;<br>\nThe lesson is that at the end of days before the Final Peace, there will be a period of suffering and pain that we would wish not to have.<br>\nTwo sages in the Talmud say that they wish for Mashiach to come but not to see it. They knew that his coming would be accompanied by horrible wars and chaos in the process of removing the negative and evil from the world.<br>\nOur work and studies earn us the merit to be registered in &lsquo;the book&rsquo;.
