75. וַיִּדַּר יַעֲקֹב נֶדֶר לֵאמֹר אִם יִהְיֶה אֱלֹהִים עִמָּדִי וְגוֹ’. אָמַר רַבִּי יְהוּדָה, כֵּיוָן שֶׁכָּל זֶה הִבְטִיחַ לוֹ הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, לָמָּה לֹא הֶאֱמִין, שֶׁאָמַר אִם יִהְיֶה אֱלֹהִים עִמָּדִי וְגוֹ’? אֶלָּא, אָמַר יַעֲקֹב, חֲלוֹם חָלַמְתִּי, וְהַחֲלוֹמוֹת – מֵהֶם אֱמֶת וּמֵהֶם לֹא אֱמֶת, וְאִם יִתְקַיֵּם, הֲרֵי יָדַעְתִּי שֶׁהוּא חֲלוֹם אֱמֶת. וְעַל כֵּן אָמַר אִם יִהְיֶה אֱלֹהִים עִמָּדִי וְגוֹ’, כְּמוֹ שֶׁחָלַמְתִּי, וְהָיָה ה’ לִי לֵאלֹהִים. אֲנִי אֶהְיֶה מוֹשֵׁךְ בְּרָכוֹת מֵהַמַּעְיָן שֶׁל הַנַּחַל שֶׁל הַכֹּל לַמָּקוֹם הַזֶּה שֶׁנִּקְרָא אֱלֹהִים.
\n76. בֹּא רְאֵה, יִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁהוּא בָּאֶמְצַע, הַכֹּל הוּא נוֹטֵל בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה מֵהַמָּקוֹר שֶׁל הַכֹּל, וְאַחַר שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ אֵלָיו, מִמֶּנּוּ שׁוֹפֵעַ וּמַמְשִׁיךְ לַמָּקוֹם הַזֶּה, מַשְׁמָע שֶׁכָּתוּב וְהָיָה ה’ לִי – בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה, וְאַחַר הַכֹּל – לֵאלֹהִים. כְּמוֹ שֶׁאֱלֹהִים יִהְיֶה שׁוֹמֵר וְעוֹשֶׂה לִי כָּל אוֹתָן הַטּוֹבוֹת, אַף אֲנִי אֶהְיֶה מוֹשֵׁךְ לוֹ מֵהַמָּקוֹם שֶׁלִּי כָּל אוֹתָן הַבְּרָכוֹת, וְיִתְחַבֵּר בּוֹ הַקֶּשֶׁר שֶׁל הַכֹּל. מָתַי? וְשַׁבְתִּי בְשָׁלוֹם אֶל בֵּית אָבִי, כְּשֶׁאֶהְיֶה יוֹשֵׁב בַּדַּרְגָּה שֶׁלִּי, וְאֶהְיֶה יוֹשֵׁב בַּדַּרְגָּה שֶׁל שָׁלוֹם לְתַקֵּן אֶת בֵּית אָבִי, וְשַׁבְתִּי בְשָׁלוֹם דַּוְקָא, אָז וְהָיָה ה’ לִי לֵאלֹהִים.<\/div>\n

\nJacob made a vow after he got up from his dream.
\nGenesis 28:20<\/a>
\n“וַיִּדַּר יַעֲקֹב נֶדֶר לֵאמֹר אִם יִהְיֶה אֱלֹהִים עִמָּדִי וּשְׁמָרַנִי בַּדֶּרֶךְ הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי הוֹלֵךְ וְנָתַן לִי לֶחֶם לֶאֱכֹל וּבֶגֶד לִלְבֹּשׁ.”
\n“Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will keep me on this journey that I take, and will give me food to eat and garments to wear,”
\nRabbi Yehuda asked why did Jacob do that when previously God promised him protection. Didn’t he believe in the words of God?
\nGenesis 28:15<\/a>
\n“וְהִנֵּה אָנֹכִי עִמָּךְ וּשְׁמַרְתִּיךָ בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר תֵּלֵךְ וַהֲשִׁבֹתִיךָ אֶל הָאֲדָמָה הַזֹּאת כִּי לֹא אֶעֱזָבְךָ עַד אֲשֶׁר אִם עָשִׂיתִי אֵת אֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתִּי לָךְ.”
\n“”Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.””
\nThe answer is that Jacob got this promise in his dream. Dreams may or may not tell the truth. Jacob thought to himself that if the dream manifests positively then he will know that the dream told truth. That is why he said “If God (ELHYM אֱלֹהִים) will be with me”, as it was in the dream, then he will draw blessings from Binah<\/a> that is the name ‘אֱלֹהִים’ ‘ELHYM’.<\/p>\n

\nIsrael<\/a>, Jacob, is the center column<\/a> that receives an abundance of nourishment from the source of all that is Binah<\/a>. After receiving, the nourishments are transferred to Malchut<\/a>.
\nGenesis 28:20<\/a>
\n“וְשַׁבְתִּי בְשָׁלוֹם, אֶל-בֵּית אָבִי; וְהָיָה יְהוָה לִי, לֵאלֹהִים”
\n“and I return to my father’s house in peace, and YHVH<\/a> will be for me, to God ( ‘אֱלֹהִים’ ‘ELHYM’)”
\nJacob says “and YHVH<\/a> will be my“ that means after he receives from YHVH<\/a>, he continues to give the blessings from his place that is Zeir Anpin<\/a>, to Malchut<\/a> that is the aspect of “my father’s house”.
\nThen everything would be completed at the level of Yessod<\/a>, achieving a state of peace as it says, “I return to my father’s house in peace, and YHVH<\/a> will be for me, to God ( ‘אֱלֹהִים’ ‘ELHYM’)”<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nNot all dreams deliver true messages and not everything in a dream is true. Most dreams have a lot of ‘fillers’ that are images and or events without connection to a true message that may be part of the dream. Even though Jacob was pure and righteous, he didn’t consider himself as a pure channel for true dreams. To manifest the dream positively, he stated his desire to receive the Light and share it.
\nIf we have bad dreams we should say “Dreams tell lies” and ignore them. To manifest a good dream, tell it to a kabbalist with experience in dream interpretation or write it down and follow with actions toward the desire to manifest what the dream revealed to you. Giving Tzedakah (connection to Yessod<\/a>) with the consciousness to manifest the dream would help. NEVER tell a dream in public, good or bad! Dreams are in the potential state until they are given meanings or actions.
\nPhysical conditions like tiredness, illness, the emotional state can affect dreams and in most cases shouldn’t be considered as dreams with true messages.<\/p>\n
