75. וַיִּוָּתֵר יַעֲקֹב לְבַדּוֹ וגו’. רַבִּי חִיָּיא פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (תהלים צא) לֹא תְאֻנֶּה אֵלֶיךָ רָעָה וְנֶגַע לֹא יִקְרַב בְּאָהֳלֶךָ. בֹּא רְאֵה, כְּשֶׁבָּרָא הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא אֶת הָעוֹלָם, עָשָׂה בְּכָל יוֹם וָיוֹם מַעֲשֵׂהוּ הָרָאוּי לוֹ, וַהֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהָ. וְנִתְבָּאֵר, [וְאִם תֹּאמַר] בַּיּוֹם הָרְבִיעִי עָשָׂה מְאוֹרוֹת, וְאָז נִבְרְאָה הַלְּבָנָה חֲסֵרָה, אוֹר שֶׁהִקְטִינָה עַצְמָהּ, וּמִשּׁוּם שֶׁהִיא מְאֹרֹת חָסֵר וָא”ו, נִתַּן מָקוֹם לִשְׁלֹט כָּל הָרוּחוֹת וְהַשֵּׁדִים וְרוּחוֹת סְעָרָה וּמַזִּיקִים וְכָל רוּחוֹת הַטֻּמְאָה.
\n76. כֻּלָּם עוֹלִים וּמְשׁוֹטְטִים בָּעוֹלָם לְהַסְטוֹת, וְנִתְמַנּוּ בִּמְקוֹמוֹת חֲרֵבִים וּבְשָׂדוֹת חֲזָקִים וּבְמִדְבָּרוֹת חֲרֵבִים, וְכֻלָּם מִצַּד רוּחַ הַטֻּמְאָה. וַהֲרֵי נִתְבָּאֵר שֶׁהֲרֵי רוּחַ הַטֻּמְאָה בָּאָה שֶׁבָּאָה מִנָּחָשׁ הָעֲקַלָּתוֹן, הוּא רוּחַ טֻמְאָה מַמָּשׁ, וְהוּא הִתְמַנָּה בָּעוֹלָם לְהַסְטוֹת בֶּן אָדָם אֵלָיו, וְעַל זֶה יֵצֶר הָרָע שׁוֹלֵט בָּעוֹלָם.

\nGenesis 32:25<\/a>
\n“וַיִּוָּתֵר יַעֲקֹב לְבַדּוֹ וַיֵּאָבֵק אִישׁ עִמּוֹ עַד עֲלוֹת הַשָּׁחַר.”
\n“Then Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak.”<\/p>\n

Rabbi Chiya opens this study about Jacob when he was alone, fighting the angel of the other-side<\/a>.
\nPsalms 91:10<\/a>
\n“לֹא תְאֻנֶּה אֵלֶיךָ רָעָה וְנֶגַע לֹא יִקְרַב בְּאָהֳלֶךָ.”
\n“No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.”<\/p>\n

The Holy One Blessed be He created the world in six days and on each day, he made specific actions as proper for that day. On the fourth day, God created two great lights, the sun and the moon in equal size. The word ‘lights’ in the Torah is written as ‘מְאֹרֹת’. It is missing the letter ו Vav that usually comes after the Alef. The Vav represents Zeir Anpin<\/a> and without it, it gives the word a negative aspect because it can be read as ‘curses’. The two lights created equal but one of them questioned the Creator for the reason of making two of the same. God reduced light of the moon and lowered it to the level of Malchut<\/a>. This action allowed negative forces to be created, including negative entities, demons, and all kinds of impure spirits. The Klipah<\/a> that is called Lili-t came too out on that day. (See also Zohar Ki Tetze #113 DZ 2826<\/a>)<\/p>\n

\nAll the negative forces roam the world and look for opportunities to hurt people and throw them off the righteous path. These impure forces come from the crooked snake<\/a>. They are found mostly in drylands and wilderness. Their purpose is to force the evil inclination on people and corrupt their ways.<\/p>\n

\nThe Snake<\/a> was appointed to be among the people and tempt them to leave the ways of the Holy One Blessed be He. The Snake<\/a> caused Adam to sin and bring mortality to the entire world. The Snake<\/a> continues to deviate people from the righteous path and make them impure.<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nIt’s very important not to walk alone at night because of the negative side free-roaming everywhere, seeking to ‘grab’ some light from ‘victims’ in Malchut<\/a>.
\nThe sages warn us from walking alone at night to avoid coming across negativity of any kind. Also, no to sleep alone in a house unless there’s light coming into the room from the outside, moon or street light. When no other option, lock the main entrance, leave some light in other rooms and open the bedroom door. It’s okay to be alone in an apartment building or two-family house if there are other occupants in the same building.
\nHaving a sacred book with you and or reciting sacred text while walking is as if you are walking with the Torah that gives protection.<\/p>\n
