Zohar Ki Tisa<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nExodus 32:5<\/a>
\n“וַיַּרְא אַהֲרֹן וַיִּבֶן מִזְבֵּחַ לְפָנָיו וַיִּקְרָא אַהֲרֹן וַיֹּאמַר חַג לַיהוָה מָחָר.”
\n“So when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow is a feast to YHVH<\/a>”
\nWhen the Magicians of the Erev Rav threw the gold into the fire, the image of the Ox came out with the forces of Ox and Donkey from the other-side<\/a>. Aaron realized that the power of the other-side<\/a> is growing stronger. He didn’t plan for this outcome and to remedy the situation he immediately built an altar to God, before the force of the other-side<\/a> matured to a point that can’t be stopped and bring destruction on the world.<\/p>\n

\nTo explain this situation the Zohar brings analogy of a bandit with strong force blocking a major road. The king’s general asked the king to join him and when the bandit saw that the king comes on the same road, he got scared and retreated.<\/p>\n

\nSimilarly, when Aaron saw that the other-side<\/a> getting stronger, he built the Altar to get strength and draw the Holy Light<\/a> from the King. The Altar has the aspect of Malchut<\/a> receiving the Light from the upper Sefirot. When the other-side<\/a> saw the Light of the Holy king in front of him, his power weakened.<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nSometimes we fail to follow the light and the negative side gets a stronger influence on us. The other-side<\/a> wishes to control us and push us away from the righteous path.
\nThe remedy is to make actions that connect us to the Light. Stopping the negative influence is done by quick action of Tzedakah because it connects us to Yessod<\/a> and the Light. The other other-side<\/a> hates that and move away. Even putting a few coins in a Tzedakah jar at home is good enough if followed by Psalms listed below and Zohar’s study. <\/p>\n

We should never give up, even if we see the negative side hovering on us like a depressing dark cloud. <\/p>\n

For protection from negativity and for spiritual uplifting read the following Psalms. They have the aspect of building a quick altar to draw light.<\/p>\n

Psalms 23:4<\/a> “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
