87. רַבִּי אַבָּא (אָחָא) אָמַר, כָּתוּב (שמות יז) וַיִּבֶן מֹשֶׁה מִזְבֵּחַ וְגוֹ’, כְּנֶגֶד אוֹתוֹ פְּנִימִי בָּנָה אֶת זֶה, וְעַל זֶה נִקְרָא ה’ נִסִּי. מַה זֶּה נִסִּי? שֶׁרָשַׁם אֶת הָרֹשֶׁם שֶׁל אוֹת הַבְּרִית הַקָּדוֹשׁ. שֶׁבְּשָׁעָה שֶׁעֲמָלֵק בָּא לְהַעֲבִיר אֶת הָרֹשֶׁם הַקָּדוֹשׁ הַזֶּה מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל, הַמִּזְבֵּחַ הַזֶּה עָמַד כְּנֶגְדּוֹ לִנְקֹם אוֹתָהּ נִקְמַת אוֹת הַבְּרִית, וְלָכֵן נִקְרָא (ויקרא כו) חֶרֶב נֹקֶמֶת נְקַם בְּרִית. וְזוֹ הִתְקִינָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל רֹשֶׁם קָדוֹשׁ. וּמֹשֶׁה בָּנָה כְּנֶגְדָּהּ מִזְבֵּחַ, וְקָרָא לוֹ ה’ נִסִּי, וְזֶהוּ מִזְבֵּחַ הַפְּנִימִי, (מלכים-א יט) קוֹל דְּמָמָה דַקָּה.
\n88. וְעַל כֵּן, אֵשׁ תָּמִיד תּוּקַד עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וְגוֹ’, אֵשׁ שֶׁנִּמְצֵאת תָּמִיד. וּמִי הִיא? הָאֵשׁ שֶׁל יִצְחָק. וְאָז הַשֵּׁם הַזֶּה – אֲדֹנָ”י. וּכְשֶׁיְּסַדֵּר עָלָיו הַכֹּהֵן אוֹתָם עֵצִים, הוּא מִתְבַּשֵּׂם בַּשֵּׁם, וְקוֹרְאִים לוֹ בְּשֵׁם הָרַחֲמִים – יְיָ, וְקוֹרְאִים לָהּ בַּשֵּׁם הַזֶּה. וְלִפְעָמִים עוֹמֶדֶת כְּמוֹ זֶה, וְלִפְעָמִים עוֹמֶדֶת כְּמוֹ זֶה. רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אָמַר, שְׁנַיִם הָיוּ, וְהַפְּנִימִי עוֹמֵד עַל אוֹתוֹ אֶחָד שֶׁבַּחוּץ, וּמִמֶּנּוּ נִזּוֹן, וְנִקְשָׁרִים זֶה עִם זֶה.<\/div>\n

Zohar Tzav<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nRabbi Echa says that there is only one Altar, sometimes it is called inner and sometimes it is called outer.
\nExodus 17:15<\/a>
\n“וַיִּבֶן מֹשֶׁה מִזְבֵּחַ וַיִּקְרָא שְׁמוֹ יְהוָה נִסִּי.”
\n“And Moses built an altar and called its name, YHVH-Is-My-Banner;”
\nThe verse uses a singular form to indicate one Altar. Rabbi Echa explains that this is related to the inner Golden Altar that is called ‘Holy of Holies to YHVH<\/a>’ (Exodus 30:10<\/a>) and the verse says that Moses called it ‘YHVH-Is-My-Banner’, a name that connects to inner Altar.
\nThe Altar that Moses built protected the Israelites<\/a> when Amalek came to fight them. They wanted to disconnect them from the level of Yessod<\/a> and drain their energy but the Altar connected to the roots of Yessod<\/a> and corrected it so the Israelites<\/a> could win over Amalek.<\/p>\n

\nLeviticus 6:6<\/a>
\n“אֵשׁ תָּמִיד תּוּקַד עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ לֹא תִכְבֶּה”
\n“Fire shall be kept burning upon the altar continually; it shall not go out.”
\nThe fire on the Altar had the aspect of the Left, Isaac and the name ‘אֲדֹנָי’ ADNY. When the priest set the woods on the altar, the name ‘אֲדֹנָי’ ADNY is elevated and is called with the name יהוה, YHVH<\/a>, that represents mercy. So sometimes the Altar was called with the name of Malchut<\/a> ‘אֲדֹנָי’ ADNY and sometimes with the higher name יהוה YHVH<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Shimon explains that they were two Altars. The inner Altar was on top of the outer one. They were spiritually connected together and the outer one nourished the inner one.<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nThe two Altars in the Holy Tabernacle served one spiritual connection to the upper levels. The outer one was big and processed all kinds of offerings. It had to be always ‘on’ to maintain a spiritual connection.
\nThe inner Altar was on a higher level. The High Priest burns incense on it once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The outer was the connection from Malchut<\/a> to Zeir Anpin<\/a> using the name ‘אֲדֹנָי’ ADNY and inner was a connection to Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a>, revealing the name YHVH<\/a>.
\nOur actions and sacrifices on the level of Malchut<\/a> elevate us to the higher level and draw the light of mercy with the YHVH<\/a> name.
\nThe verse from Leviticus 6:6<\/a> teaches us to keep on the path of positive actions and continuously draw light from above.
\n“אֵשׁ תָּמִיד תּוּקַד עַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ לֹא תִכְבֶּה”
\n“Fire shall be kept burning upon the altar continually; it shall not go out.”<\/p>\n

Reading and scanning this verse has the ability to ‘burn’ negative thoughts. It is good to say it seven times before prayers. <\/p>\n
