\n“וּמִי כְעַמְּךָ כְּיִשְׂרָאֵל גּוֹי אֶחָד בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר הָלְכוּ אֱלֹהִים לִפְדּוֹת לוֹ לְעָם וְלָשׂוּם לוֹ שֵׁם וְלַעֲשׂוֹת לָכֶם הַגְּדוּלָּה וְנֹרָאוֹת לְאַרְצֶךָ מִפְּנֵי עַמְּךָ אֲשֶׁר פָּדִיתָ לְּךָ מִמִּצְרַיִם גּוֹיִם וֵאלֹהָיו.”

\nThe Israelites<\/a> are called ‘One Nation’ when they are connected to the Holy Land and the Holy City, Jerusalem<\/a>. This is the same way Zeir Anpin<\/a> is called one when in unification with Malchut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nRabbi Ashlag refers us to the study in the Zohar portion of Vaera #198 – #206. Rabbi Yossi and Rabbi Chiya were walking together, remembering a study by Rabbi Shimon that made them cry.
\nSarah was barren and after she was menopause, she gave Abraham her maid, Hagar, to have a child from her. Ishmael was born and was circumcised.
\nEven though Sarah delivered a child from a holy seed and vessel, Ishmael earned merits for being a child of Abraham and for having a circumcision<\/a>. It made him part of the covenant that God made with Abraham. Isaac was born after the covenant was made. For these merits, God gave Ishmael and his descendent a claim in the Holy Land until the Israelites<\/a> return to their rightful place and establish a unification with the Land and Jerusalem<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n“לְךָ אָמַר לִבִּי בַּקְּשׁוּ פָנָי אֶת פָּנֶיךָ יְהוָה אֲבַקֵּשׁ.”
\n“When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, YHVH<\/a>, I will seek.””
\nKing David expresses his desire to connect his ‘Heart’ that comes from Malchut<\/a> ‘to You’, which is Zeir Anpin<\/a>. He wanted to establish a ‘Face to Face’ unification to have a complete connection to YHVH<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nRabbi Chiyah and Rabbi Yossi cried because they saw that the return of the Israelites<\/a> to the Holy Land and Jerusalem<\/a> would be delayed because Sarah gave up on having a child. We cannot blame her for that because she was barren and in menopause. Because of her selfless action, Ishmael was born and caused a barrier between the Israelites<\/a> and the Holy Land and Jerusalem<\/a>.
\nThe Zohar (Vaera #204) says that the children of Ishmael will cause wars in the world. The west will try to stop them and will have one war on land, one war on sea, and one near Jerusalem<\/a>.
\nIn the end, the force of Israel<\/a> will prevail because God will come to remove evil from the entire world.<\/p>\n

The practical lesson for us is to avoid actions and anything that would push us away from a pure connection to Zeir Anpin<\/a> that is the Torah and the source of Light and blessings in our lives.<\/p>\n

Today is Lag L’Omer*<\/p>\n

We give honor and thanks to Rabbi Shimon for the Zohar that gives Light to the world. The Daily Zohar exists because of Rabbi Shimon and I am happy that so many thousands around the world can have free access to a daily study of the Zohar.<\/p>\n

I am especially joyous today for the merit I was given to share with you my Zohar studies. The Daily Zohar started on Lag B’Omer night 11 years ago when I posted Daily Zohar #1 and now we are 3340 studies later. B”H, Rabbi Shimon, Rabbi Ashlag of blessed memory, your participation, prayers, and support, we will continue until we finish the entire study of the Zohar.
\nIn honor of this day, I published the Zohar portion of Behar with the Daily Zohar commentary. It’s only a draft copy and B”H we will edit and make it the best we can, and do the same for all Zohar portions.<\/p>\n

Some recommend using “Lag L’Omer” and not “B’Omer” because in the actual counting of the Omer we use Lag L’Omer”, which means the 33rd day of the Omer.<\/p>\n
