104. אֲשֶׁר תִּקְרְאוּ אֹתָם בְּמוֹעֲדָם, כָּתוּב (שמות כב) וְאַנְשֵׁי קֹדֶשׁ תִּהְיוּן לִי. יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמַטָּה נִקְרָאִים אַנְשֵׁי קֹדֶשׁ. כֵּיוָן שֶׁהֵם מְזֻמָּנִים מִקֹּדֶשׁ שֶׁלְּמַעְלָה, אַתֶּם אַנְשֵׁי קֹדֶשׁ לְמַטָּה הַזְמִינוּ אוֹתָם, אָז הַתְקִינוּ סְעוּדָה וְשִׂמְחוּ, שֶׁהֲרֵי לָכֶם רָאוּי זֶה, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁאַתֶּם נִקְרָאִים אַנְשֵׁי קֹדֶשׁ, וְיִהְיוּ כֻלָּם מְזֻמָּנִים בְּכָל הַצְּדָדִים שֶׁל קֹדֶשׁ לְמַעְלָה וּלְמַטָּה.
\n105. דָּבָר אַחֵר אֵלֶּה מוֹעֲדֵי ה’, מַה זֶּה מוֹעֲדֵי ה’? רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אָמַר, הֵם מֵה’, שֶׁבּוֹ נִקְשְׁרוּ מִמַּטָּה לְמַעְלָה וּמִמַּעְלָה לְמַטָּה. כֻּלָּם קְשׁוּרִים בּוֹ, וְכֻלָּם מִתְעַטְּרִים (וּמְזֻמָּנִים) (וּמִתְאַחֲדִים) לְהִקָּשֵׁר קֶשֶׁר אֶחָד בַּקֶּשֶׁר שֶׁל הַמֶּלֶךְ. מָה הַטַּעַם? כְּמוֹ שֶׁמֶּלֶךְ יוֹרֵשׁ אֶת הָאָב וְהָאֵם, וְאָחוּז בְּאוֹתוֹ קֹדֶשׁ וּמִתְעַטֵּר בָּהֶם. Leviticus 23:2<\/a>
\n“דַּבֵּר אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם מוֹעֲדֵי יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר תִּקְרְאוּ אֹתָם מִקְרָאֵי קֹדֶשׁ אֵלֶּה הֵם מוֹעֲדָי.”
\n““Speak to the children of Israel<\/a>, and say to them: ‘These feasts of YHVH<\/a>, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.”<\/p>\n

\nExodus 22:30<\/a>
\n“וְאַנְשֵׁי קֹדֶשׁ תִּהְיוּן לִי וּבָשָׂר בַּשָּׂדֶה טְרֵפָה לֹא תֹאכֵלוּ לַכֶּלֶב תַּשְׁלִכוּן אֹתוֹ.”
\n““And you shall be holy men to Me: you shall not eat meat torn by beasts in the field; you shall throw it to the dogs.”<\/p>\n

Israel<\/a> is called ‘Holy men’ because they are invited to receive holiness from Father and Mother<\/a>.
\n‘You shall proclaim to be holy convocations’ tells us to prepare well for the holidays to have a proper and worthy vessel for the light of Holiness.
\nWe prepare a meal and make it a joyful event because as invited ‘Holy men’ we connect to all the levels from Father and Mother<\/a> to Malchut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nRabbi Shimon explains that ‘These feasts of YHVH<\/a>’ means that the holidays come from YHVH<\/a>, Zeir Anpin<\/a>. They come down through the three columns<\/a>.
\nZeir Anpin<\/a> receives the Light from the upper three sefirot and the light of Chokmah<\/a> is revealed in Malchut<\/a>. Those who are ‘invited’ for this connection enjoy a complete unification with the Tree of Life<\/a>. To be invited we need to ‘proclaim’ the holiness of the holiday. <\/p>\n

\nThe Israelites<\/a> benefit from a special relationship with YHVH<\/a> when they follow the Torah. They receive Light from the King, Zeir Anpin<\/a>, and from Father and Mother<\/a>. They become Holy when we proclaim the holidays. <\/p>\n

Leviticus 23:4<\/a>
\n“אֵלֶּה מוֹעֲדֵי יְהוָה מִקְרָאֵי קֹדֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר תִּקְרְאוּ אֹתָם בְּמוֹעֲדָם.”
\n“‘These are the feasts of YHVH<\/a>, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.”
\nDeuteronomy 4:4<\/a>
\n“וְאַתֶּם הַדְּבֵקִים בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם חַיִּים כֻּלְּכֶם הַיּוֹם.”
\n“But you who held fast to YHVH<\/a> your God are alive today, every one of you.”
\n“Israel<\/a> is holiness to YHVH<\/a>” (Jeremiah 2:3<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nThe Kiddush of the three main holidays, Passover, Sukkot, and Shavuot, starts with the verse “‘These are the feasts of YHVH<\/a>, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.”
\nIt’s a key that the Torah gives us to ‘unlock’ the connection to the Holiness of the holiday.
\nThe word ‘קידוש’ ‘Kiddush’ has the root ‘קדש’ that means Holy. Kiddush can be recited over water, beer, or even bread but we use wine for several reasons. The Zohar calls the light that flows from the upper three ‘preserved wine’.
\nWine brings happiness and as the aspect of the Left column<\/a>, it has a greater force to draw the Light of Chokmah<\/a> to Malchut<\/a>.
\nOil, water, and wine come out from one source. Oil on the Right and use by the priests<\/a>. Wine is Left and used by the Levites. Water in the center and it is the aspect of light that spread down to all levels.
\n‘Wine’ ‘יין’ has a numerical value of 70 to reveal the connection to the ‘high’ sefirot.
\nBefore Kiddush, we add a few drops of water into the wine to ‘balance’ the Left with the Right and connect to happiness.
