224. עַד שֶׁהָיוּ הוֹלְכִים, אָמַר רַבִּי חִיָּיא, כָּתוּב (שם ב) אֵלֶּה תוֹלְדוֹת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהָאָרֶץ. הַשָּׁמַיִם – לִכְלֹל אֶת הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא. וְהָאָרֶץ – לִכְלֹל אֶת הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא וְכָל מַה שֶּׁלְּמַטָּה, אֵלּוּ נִקְרָאִים תּוֹלְדוֹת הַשָּׁמַיִם, מֵהֶם.

Zohar Ha’azinu<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nWhile Rabbi Chiyah and Rabbi Yitzchak were walking, Rabbi Chiyah quotes Genesis 2:4<\/a>
\n“אֵלֶּה תוֹלְדוֹת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהָאָרֶץ בְּהִבָּרְאָם בְּיוֹם עֲשׂוֹת יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים אֶרֶץ וְשָׁמָיִם.”
\n“This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that YHVH<\/a> God made the earth and the heavens,”
\nHe explains that Zeir Anpin<\/a> is called ‘The heavens’ that represents the Holy One Blessed be He. Malchut<\/a> is ‘the earth’.
\nBelow the world of Atzilut<\/a> are the worlds of B’riah, Yetzirah, and Asiya. They are called ‘the account of the heavens and the earth’ from which they were born, meaning from Zeir Anpin<\/a> and Malchut<\/a> of Atzilut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThe Zohar explains that the word ‘בְּהִבָּרְאָם’ ‘when they were created’ teaches us that ‘בְּהִ’ means ‘in ה’, where the ה represents Malchut<\/a>. ‘בָּרְאָם’ means ‘He created them’. This tells us that Malchut<\/a> delivered the lower worlds. Zeir Anpin<\/a> is mentioned before together with Malchut<\/a> as we learned from ‘the account of the heavens and the earth’. He explains that after Zeir Anpin<\/a> unified with Malchut<\/a>, Malchut<\/a> could deliver the lower worlds.
\nThe word ‘בְּהִבָּרְאָם’ has the same letters as ‘אברהם’ ‘Abraham’. The connection here is that Abraham is Chessed<\/a> of Zeir Anpin<\/a>. From Chessed<\/a>, Zeir Anpin<\/a> begins to spread, and as the first Sefira Abraham represents Zeir Anpin<\/a> and Malchut<\/a> as ‘the heavens and the earth’.<\/p>\n

\nThis world was created with the ‘ה’ of Malchut<\/a> and the world to come, that is Binah<\/a>, was created with the letter ‘י’ that is Chokmah<\/a>.
\nGenesis 2:10<\/a>
\n“וְנָהָרּ יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן וּמִשָּׁם יִפָּרֵד וְהָיָה לְאַרְבָּעָה רָאשִׁים.”
\n“Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four river heads.”
\nThe ‘river’ is Binah<\/a>, coming out of Eden that is Chokmah<\/a>, ‘To water, the Garden’ is Zeir Anpin<\/a> that is also called ‘a river’.
\nWe learn from this verse that Zeir Anpin<\/a> comes out of Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a> that are called ‘Eden’, and ‘water the garden’ that is Malchut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThe Zohar explains here that the Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a> of Atzilut<\/a> created Zeir Anpin<\/a> (male) and Malchut<\/a> (female). When Z”A and Malchut<\/a> unite they draw from the upper ‘river’, become ‘fruitful’ and can create the worlds below.
\nThe Holy Ari reveals that as an expression of a formula, the ten sefirot system is in every process, one within the other, endless times.<\/p>\n
