96. אָמַר לָהֶם, וַדַּאי אוֹתוֹ מָקוֹם שֶׁאָנוּ גָרִים בּוֹ הוּא קָטָן, וְכֻלָּם עוֹסְקִים בַּתּוֹרָה, וְיֵשׁ עָלֵינוּ תַּלְמִיד חָכָם וּשְׁמוֹ רַבִּי יִצְחָק בַּר יוֹסֵי מָחוֹזָאָה, וּבְכָל יוֹם וָיוֹם אוֹמֵר לָנוּ דִּבְרֵי תוֹרָה חֲדָשִׁים, וְאָמַר שֶׁהֲרֵי בֶּחָג זְמַן הוּא לִשְׁלֹט. \nHe continued to tell them that their village is small and all of them study the Torah. They have an excellent Rabbi, his name is Rabbi Yitzchak bar Yossi from Choza’ah, and every day he tells them new Torah revelation. He says that the Holiday of Sukkot is the time when the Israelites<\/a> can have control over the ministers of the seventy nations.

\n“אֲזַי עָבַר עַל נַפְשֵׁנוּ הַמַּיִם הַזֵּידוֹנִים.”
\n“בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה שֶׁלֹּא נְתָנָנוּ טֶרֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶם.”
\n“Then the raging waters Would have gone over our soul.”
\n“Blessed be YHVH<\/a>, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar asks about the connection between ‘raging waters’ and ‘their teeth’ and explains that ‘raging waters’ are the other nations and ‘their teeth’ are the ministries that govern them. They receive blessings from the side of Israel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nTo govern the other nations, Israel<\/a> uses the Holy Name that is connected to the four species of the Lulav. The three myrtles are the secret of Chessed<\/a>, Gevurah<\/a>, and Yessod<\/a> drawn from the Y י of the YHVH<\/a> name. The willow branches are the secrets of Netzach<\/a>, and Hod<\/a> from the first Hה of the name. The Lulav, which is the palm branch, is the secret of Yessod<\/a> from the V ו of the name. The Etrog is Malchut<\/a> from the lower Hה of the name.
\nThe Lulav connection pleases the Holy One Blessed be He, and it awakens the abundance of the upper waters for the ritual of pouring the water over the Altar that is the aspect of Malchut<\/a>. These rituals support Israel<\/a> to overcome the raging waters.<\/p>\n

\nHe adds that the first awakening is on Rosh Hashanah when the female returns to the state she was on the fourth day of Creation, which was incomplete and full of judgments. The first awakening is the lower court that is awakened to judge the world. At that time, the Holy One Blessed be He sits on the throne of judgment and judges the whole world. <\/p>\n
