113. וּבֹא וּרְאֵה, שֶׁאֲפִלּוּ בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁהִזְמִין אֶת הַמַּלְאָכִים אָמַר לָהֶם וְהִשָּׁעֲנוּ תַּחַת הָעֵץ כְּדֵי לִרְאוֹת וְלִבְדֹּק אוֹתָם, וּבְאוֹתוֹ אִילָן הָיָה בּוֹדֵק אֶת כָּל בְּנֵי הָעוֹלָם. וְהַסּוֹד [כְּנֶגֶד] מִשּׁוּם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא [עָשָׂה] אָמַר שֶׁהוּא עֵץ הַחַיִּים לַכֹּל, וְלָכֵן וְהִשָּׁעֲנוּ תַּחַת הָעֵץ, וְלֹא תַחַת עֲבוֹדָה זָרָה.
\n114. וּבֹא וּרְאֵה, כְּשֶׁחָטָא אָדָם, הוּא חָטָא בְּעֵץ הַדַּעַת טוֹב וָרָע, שֶׁכָּתוּב וּמֵעֵץ הַדַּעַת וְגוֹ’, וְהוּא חָטָא בּוֹ וְגָרַם מָוֶת לָעוֹלָם. מַה כָּתוּב? וְעַתָּה פֶּן יִשְׁלַח יָדוֹ וְלָקַח גַּם מֵעֵץ הַחַיִּים וְגוֹ’ [וְגָרַם מָוֶת לְכָל בְּנֵי הָעוֹלָם].. וּכְשֶׁבָּא אַבְרָהָם, הִתְקִין אֶת הָעוֹלָם עִם אִילָן אַחֵר, שֶׁהוּא עֵץ הַחַיִּים, וְהוֹדִיעַ אֶת הָאֱמוּנָה לְכָל בְּנֵי הָעוֹלָם.
\n115. אָמַר רַבִּי חִיָּיא אָמַר רַב, אִם הָיִינוּ מִסְתַּכְּלִים בַּפָּרָשָׁה הַזּוֹ – נִסְתַּכֵּל בְּחָכְמָה אִם עִנְיַן הַנְּשָׁמָה הִיא אֵין רֹאשָׁהּ סוֹפָהּ וְאֵין סוֹפָהּ רֹאשָׁהּ, וְאִם הָעִנְיָן לִפְטִירַת הָאָדָם מִן הָעוֹלָם הִיא, נִסְתֹּר אֶת כָּל הַפָּרָשָׁה אוֹ נַעֲמִיד אֶת הַפָּרָשָׁה בָּזֶה אוֹ בָזֶה. מַה זֶּה יֻקַּח נָא מְעַט מַיִם וְרַחֲצוּ רַגְלֵיכֶם וְגוֹ’, וְאֶקְחָה פַת לֶחֶם וְגוֹ’, וַיְמַהֵר אַבְרָהָם הָאֹהֱלָה אֶל שָׂרָה וְגוֹ’, וְאֶל הַבָּקָר רָץ אַבְרָהָם וְגוֹ’, וַיִּקַּח חֶמְאָה וְחָלָב וְגוֹ’?.<\/div>\n

Zohar Vayera<\/strong><\/p>\n

Genesis 18:4<\/a>
\n“יֻקַּח נָא מְעַט מַיִם וְרַחֲצוּ רַגְלֵיכֶם וְהִשָּׁעֲנוּ תַּחַת הָעֵץ.”
\n“Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.”<\/p>\n

\nEven when the angels came, Abraham invited them to rest under the tree so he could test them. His consciousness was to do for the sake of the Holy One Blessed be He. Abraham’s tree has the aspect of the Tree of Life<\/a> and when he brought the people under the tree, it was to connect them to the pure faith<\/a> and not to idol worship.<\/p>\n

\nAdam sinned when he connected himself to the Tree of Knowledge Good and Bad. His action brought mortality to the world.
\nGenesis 3:22<\/a>
\n“וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים הֵן הָאָדָם הָיָה כְּאַחַד מִמֶּנּוּ לָדַעַת טוֹב וָרָע וְעַתָּה פֶּן יִשְׁלַח יָדוֹ וְלָקַח גַּם מֵעֵץ הַחַיִּים וְאָכַל וָחַי לְעֹלָם.”
\n“Then YHVH<\/a> God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life<\/a>, and eat, and live forever”—”
\nAbraham made corrections to the sin of Adam when he revealed the faith<\/a> that connects the people to the Tree of Life<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nRabbi Chiya says that this portion has many secrets that can be understood as aspects of the soul or as a matter of passing from this world. There are questions about what are the meanings of “water to wash your feet” (Genesis 18:4<\/a>), “while I bring a morsel of bread” (18:5), “Abraham ran back to the tent” (18:6), “Abraham brought curds and milk” (18:8). <\/p>\n
