96. בֹּא רְאֵה, הַבְּאֵר הַזוֹ כְּתוּבָה שֶׁבַע פְּעָמִים בַּפָּרָשָׁה הַזּוֹ, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהִיא רֶמֶז לְשֶׁבַע. וְכָךְ נִקְרֵאת בְּאֵר שֶׁבַע. Zohar Vayetze<\/strong>

\nThe ‘well’ is mentioned seven times in Vayetze because it is a clue to the seventh, which is the Nukva<\/a> of Zeir Anpin<\/a> that includes the seven sefirot. The seventh is also called ‘באר שבע’ ‘Beer Sheva’, meaning the ‘well of seven’.
\nWhen it says (Genesis 29:2<\/a>) “and he saw a well in the field” it was the well of the seven levels.<\/p>\n

\nWith Moses, the well is mentioned only once.
\nExodus 2:15<\/a>
\n“וַיִּשְׁמַע פַּרְעֹה אֶת הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וַיְבַקֵּשׁ לַהֲרֹג אֶת מֹשֶׁה וַיִּבְרַח מֹשֶׁה מִפְּנֵי פַרְעֹה וַיֵּשֶׁב בְּאֶרֶץ מִדְיָן וַיֵּשֶׁב עַל הַבְּאֵר.”
\n“When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat on the well.”
\nOn Jacob, the verse says ‘And Jacob saw the well’. On Moses, it says ‘Moses sat on the well’, which is above the well. It tells us that Moses was higher than Jacob. While Jacob was connected from Tiferet<\/a> down to this world. Moses was separated above Zeir Anpin<\/a>. He was considered as ‘the owner of the house’. Jacob was part of the ‘house’ and Moses was outside of it. For these reasons, the Torah mentions only one well for Moses and seven wells for Jacob.
