Without the Light, the vessel gets into a vulnerable state and it can easily break. When it breaks there is no hold for the impure side and the vessel is considered pure but empty. This is the state of exile that causes us pain because we are experiencing the loss of the Light that we had and enjoyed.<br>\nThe distance that the vessel experiences depends on its size and level of purity. The more we study, the closer we feel to the Light.<br>\nThe Holy One Blessed be He didn&rsquo;t leave the Holy Temple because we sinned. He left because he can&rsquo;t stay in an impure vessel.
