103. לֹא יוּכַל לִרְאוֹת. רַבִּי אַבָּא פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (משלי טז) בְּאוֹר פְּנֵי מֶלֶךְ חַיִּים וּרְצוֹנוֹ כְּעָב מַלְקוֹשׁ. כְּשֶׁיְּקַבְּלוּ פְּנֵי שְׁכִינָתוֹ שֶׁל הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, וְיִתְעַסְּקוּ בְּאוֹתָן מֶרְכָּבוֹת שֶׁמֵּהֶן חַיּוֹת הָעוֹלָם.
\n104. בֹּא רְאֵה, לֹא תִמְצָא בַּפְּסוּקִים הַלָּלוּ כֻּלָּם לָשׁוֹן אֶלָּא לָאֲנָשִׁים, (תהלים עא) גַּם לְשׁוֹנִי כָּל הַיּוֹם תֶּהְגֶּה צִדְקָתֶךָ. וְלֹא תִמְצָא בַּפְּסוּקִים הַלָּלוּ בַּקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ יָשׁוּבוּ לְאַרְצָם וְיִתֵּן בָּהֶם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא רוּחַ חָכְמָה, לְשׁוֹנָם תִּהְיֶה תָּמִיד. \n105. וַיְחִי יַעֲקֹב וְגוֹ’. רַבִּי חִיָּיא פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (ישעיה ס) וְעַמֵּךְ כֻּלָּם צַדִּיקִים לְעוֹלָם יִירְשׁוּ אָרֶץ וְגוֹ’. אַשְׁרֵיהֶם יִשְׂרָאֵל יוֹתֵר מִכָּל אֻמּוֹת עוֹבְדֵי עֲבוֹדַת כּוֹכָבִים וּמַזָּלוֹת, שֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא קָרָא אוֹתָם צַדִּיקִים לְהוֹרִישׁ לָהֶם יְרֻשַּׁת עוֹלָמִים בָּעוֹלָם הַבָּא, לְהִתְעַנֵּג בְּאוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב (ישעיה נח) אָז תִּתְעַנַּג עַל ה’. מָה הַטַּעַם? בִּגְלַל שֶׁנִּדְבָּקִים בַּגּוּף שֶׁל הַמֶּלֶךְ, שֶׁכָּתוּב (דברים ד) וְאַתֶּם הַדְּבֵקִים בַּה’ אֱלֹהֵיכֶם חַיִּים כֻּלְּכֶם הַיּוֹם.<\/div>\n

\nProverbs 16:15<\/a>
\n“בְּאוֹר פְּנֵי מֶלֶךְ חַיִּים וּרְצוֹנוֹ כְּעָב מַלְקוֹשׁ.”
\n“In the light of the king’s face is life, And his favor is like a cloud of the latter rain.”
\nRabbi Aba says that when we receive the Shechina that is the Light of the Holy One Blessed be He in this world, and deal with the studies of the chariots (Ezekiel 1), we connect to life.<\/p>\n

\nWhen Israel<\/a> returns from exile, the Holy One Blessed be He would bestow upon them the Light of Chokmah<\/a> and they will speak only of the Holy One Blessed be He as it is written;
\nPsalms 71:24<\/a>
\n“גַּם לְשׁוֹנִי כָּל הַיּוֹם תֶּהְגֶּה צִדְקָתֶךָ כִּי בֹשׁוּ כִי חָפְרוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי רָעָתִי.”
\n“My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long; For they are confounded, For they are brought to shame Who seek my hurt.”<\/p>\n

\nIsaiah 60:21<\/a>
\n“וְעַמֵּךְ כֻּלָּם צַדִּיקִים לְעוֹלָם יִירְשׁוּ אָרֶץ נֵצֶר מטעו [מַטָּעַי] מַעֲשֵׂה יָדַי לְהִתְפָּאֵר.”
\n“Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified.”
\nRabbi Chiya quotes this verse and says that Israel<\/a> is happy for being above all nations that worship idols. The Holy One Blessed be He called them righteous so they can inherit the world to come, and enjoy the delight of the Light of Hashem<\/a>.
\nIsaiah 58:14<\/a>
\n“אָז תִּתְעַנַּג עַל יְהוָה וְהִרְכַּבְתִּיךָ עַל במותי [בָּמֳתֵי] אָרֶץ וְהַאֲכַלְתִּיךָ נַחֲלַת יַעֲקֹב אָבִיךָ כִּי פִּי יְהוָה דִּבֵּר.”
\n“Then you shall delight yourself in YHVH<\/a>, And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of YHVH<\/a> has spoken.”
\nDeuteronomy 4:4<\/a>
\n“וְאַתֶּם הַדְּבֵקִים בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם חַיִּים כֻּלְּכֶם הַיּוֹם.”
\n“But you who held fast to YHVH<\/a> your God are alive today, every one of you.”<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nThe Portion of Vayechi starts with “And Jacob lived” and the Zohar gives this portion a significant discussion about life and death. This study quotes several verses that teach us that we are blessed to have the connection to the Holy One Blessed be He, the Torah he gave us, and the Zohar that reveals the Light of life that is in the Torah.
\nProverbs 3:18<\/a>
\n“עֵץ חַיִּים הִיא לַמַּחֲזִיקִים בָּהּ וְתֹמְכֶיהָ מְאֻשָּׁר.”
\n“She is (the Torah) a tree of life<\/a> to those who lay hold of her; those who support her are called blessed.”<\/p>\n
