91. אָמַר רַבִּי יֵיסָא, אִם כָּךְ שֶׁבִּשְׁבִיל הַגְּבִירָה זֶה הָיָה, הֲרֵי בְּגָלוּת בָּבֶל הָיְתָה שָׁם הַגְּבִירָה, וְלָמָּה לֹא הָיָה כָּךְ? אָמַר לוֹ, הֲרֵי שָׁנִינוּ שֶׁהַחֵטְא גָּרַם, שֶׁנָּשְׂאוּ נָשִׁים נָכְרִיּוֹת וְהִכְנִיסוּ אוֹת בְּרִית קֹדֶשׁ לְרָשׁוּת אַחֶרֶת, וְלָכֵן נֶאֶבְדוּ מֵהֶם הַנִּסִּים וְהָאוֹתוֹת שֶׁרְאוּיִים הָיוּ לְהֵעָשׂוֹת לָהֶם, מַה שֶּׁלֹּא הָיָה כָּךְ בְּגָלוּת מִצְרַיִם, שֶׁכֻּלָּם הָיוּ שִׁבְטֵי יָהּ, בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל נִכְנְסוּ, וּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יָצְאוּ.
