\n111. הַשֵּׁם שֶׁל אַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁתַּיִם הוּא מִתְעַטֵּר לַמֶּרְכָּבָה הָעֶלְיוֹנָה. הַשֵּׁם שֶׁל שִׁבְעִים וּשְׁתַּיִם מִתְעַטֵּר לַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַתַּחְתּוֹנָה. אַשְׁרֵי חֶלְקוֹ שֶׁל מִי שֶׁמִּשְׁתַּדֵּל לְהַכִּיר אֶת רִבּוֹנוֹ. אַשְׁרָיו בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה וּבָעוֹלָם הַבָּא.

Zohar Teruma<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe 72 names that come out from the three verses in Exodus 14:19<\/a>,20,21 by the merits of the patriarchs draw the Light of Chokmah<\/a> to Malchut<\/a>. The secret of the 72 is the Holy name יהוה in אתבש<\/a> (Atbash<\/a>) is מצפץ that comes from the edge of Arich Anpin<\/a>. From this name comes out the thirteen attributes of Mercy that are twelve in the holy chariot<\/a>.
\nThe 72 names go up from the right side of Zeir Anpin<\/a> and come down on the Left on the other side<\/a> to benefit Malchut<\/a>.
\nThe first letters rise in the count. The letter ב gets a position number higher than the א, the letter ג above ב, the ד is above ג and so on. The last letters go down in the count. The Letter ש is less than ת, the ר less that the ש , and so on. They go up on one side and down on the other to bring the good from above to below.<\/p>\n

\nThe name of 42 surrounds the supernal<\/a> chariot<\/a> like a crown, meaning to the supernal<\/a> Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a>. The name of 72 surrounds the lower chariot<\/a>, meaning Malchut<\/a> as explained above.
\nPraised are those who make the efforts to connect to his master. Happy he in this world and the world to come.<\/p>\n

\nFor that reason, the praise of El Adon that we recite on Shabbat to the king that brings peace uses the name of 72, the 18 letters from ג to ר and the 22 words of the אתבש<\/a> that we explained previously.
