92. אָמַר רַבִּי יִצְחָק, וַדַּאי זֶהוּ סוֹד הַדָּבָר, שֶׁכָּתוּב (איכה ב) נִאֵר מִקְדָּשׁוֹ. מָה הַטַּעַם? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁבְּנֵי הָעוֹלָם גָּרְמוּ אֶת זֶה, שֶׁכָּתוּב (במדבר יט) אֶת מִקְדַּשׁ ה’ טִמֵּא, טִמֵּא מַמָּשׁ. אָמַר רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר, טִמֵּא, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהִסְתַּלְּקָה (הַשְּׁכִינָה מִמֶּנּוּ) מִי שֶׁהִסְתַּלְּקָה, וְהַנָּחָשׁ הַתַּקִּיף שָׁרוּי וּמַטִּיל זֻהֲמָא, וּמְטַמֵּא אֶת מִי שֶׁמְּטַמֵּא, וְכֻלָּם מִשּׁוּם חֲטָאֵי הָעוֹלָם.
\n93. לָמַדְנוּ, כְּשֶׁמַּתְחִיל הַנָּחָשׁ (הֶחָזָק) לְהִתְגַּלּוֹת, מִסְתַּלְּקִים הַבִּנְיָנִים וְהָעַמּוּדִים וְעוֹבְרִים, וּבָא הַנָּחָשׁ הַתַּקִּיף וּמַטִּיל זֻהֲמָא, וְאָז נִמְצָא הַמִּקְדָּשׁ טָמֵא. מִי הַמִּקְדָּשׁ? כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר וְנָתַתִּי נֶגַע צָרַעַת בְּבֵית אֶרֶץ אֲחֻזַּתְכֶם. וְכָתוּב (בראשית ג) וְהַנָּחָשׁ הָיָה עָרוּם מִכֹּל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה ה’ אֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל הָאִשָּׁה. אֶל הָאִשָּׁה מַמָּשׁ, שֶׁמְּקוֹם הַמִּקְדָּשׁ נֶאֱחָז בְּתוֹכָהּ, וְהַיְנוּ אֶת מִקְדַּשׁ ה’ טִמֵּא, מִשּׁוּם חֶטְאוֹ, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהִתְגַּלָּה הַנָּחָשׁ הַתַּקִּיף.<\/div>\n

\n“זָנַח אֲדֹנָי מִזְבְּחוֹ נִאֵר מִקְדָּשׁוֹ הִסְגִּיר בְּיַד אוֹיֵב חוֹמֹת אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ קוֹל נָתְנוּ בְּבֵית יְהוָה כְּיוֹם מוֹעֵד.”
\n“YHVH<\/a> has spurned His altar, He has abandoned His sanctuary; He has given up the walls of her palaces Into the hand of the enemy. They have made a noise in the house of YHVH<\/a> As on the day of a set feast.”
\nRabbi Yitzchak says that the secret revealed in this verse is that the Lights of the Holy Temple, which is Malchut<\/a> were shut down because of the sins of the people in the world as we read in Numbers 19:20<\/a>
\n“וְאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִטְמָא וְלֹא יִתְחַטָּא וְנִכְרְתָה הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא מִתּוֹךְ הַקָּהָל כִּי אֶת מִקְדַּשׁ יְהוָה טִמֵּא מֵי נִדָּה לֹא זֹרַק עָלָיו טָמֵא הוּא.”
\n“‘But the man who is unclean and does not purify himself, that person shall be cut off from among the assembly, because he has defiled the sanctuary of YHVH<\/a>. The water of purification has not been sprinkled on him; he is unclean.”<\/p>\n

“He has defiled the sanctuary of YHVH<\/a>” because the sin disconnected Zeir Anpin<\/a> from Malchut<\/a>. Then the Snake<\/a> could come and bring more impurities on the people, all because of the sins that created disconnection from Zeir Anpin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nWhen the primordial Snake<\/a> began to appear, the support of the Holy Temple that is the columns of Netzach<\/a> and Hod<\/a> leave, and the Snake<\/a> comes in and defile the Temple as it is written “and I put the leprous plague in a house in the land”;
\nLeviticus 14:34<\/a>
\n“כִּי תָבֹאוּ אֶל אֶרֶץ כְּנַעַן אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי נֹתֵן לָכֶם לַאֲחֻזָּה וְנָתַתִּי נֶגַע צָרַעַת בְּבֵית אֶרֶץ אֲחֻזַּתְכֶם.”
\n“When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give you as a possession, and I put the leprous plague in a house in the land of your possession,”
\nIt is also written; Genesis 3:1<\/a>
\n“וְהַנָּחָשׁ הָיָה עָרוּם מִכֹּל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל הָאִשָּׁה אַף כִּי אָמַר אֱלֹהִים לֹא תֹאכְלוּ מִכֹּל עֵץ הַגָּן.”
\n“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which YHVH<\/a> God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
\nThe woman is a female, a vessel, and the aspect of the Holy Temple that hosts the Light. The Snake<\/a> made a connection with the woman and made her impure. It showed the power of the Snake<\/a> to influence negativity on the people.<\/p>\n
