92. פָּתַח רַבִּי יוֹסֵי וְאָמַר, (שיר ב) יוֹנָתִי בְּחַגְוֵי הַסֶּלַע בְּסֵתֶר הַמַּדְרֵגָה וְגוֹ’. יוֹנָתִי – זוֹ כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל. מַה יּוֹנָה לֹא עוֹזֶבֶת אֶת בֶּן זוּגָהּ לְעוֹלָמִים, כָּךְ כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא עוֹזֶבֶת אֶת הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא לְעוֹלָמִים. בְּחַגְוֵי הַסֶּלַע – אֵלּוּ תַּלְמִידֵי חֲכָמִים, שֶׁלֹּא נִמְצָאִים בִּמְנוּחָה בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה. בְּסֵתֶר הַמַּדְרֵגָה – אֵלּוּ תַּלְמִידֵי חֲכָמִים שֶׁצְּנוּעִים, שֶׁבָּהֶם חֲסִידִים יִרְאֵי הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, שֶׁשְּׁכִינָה לֹא זָזָה מֵהֶם לְעוֹלָמִים. אָז הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא תּוֹבֵעַ אֶת כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּשְׁבִילָם וְאוֹמֵר, הַרְאִינִי אֶת מַרְאַיִךְ הַשְׁמִיעִנִי אֶת קוֹלֵךְ כִּי קוֹלֵךְ עָרֵב, שֶׁאֵין קוֹל שֶׁנִּשְׁמָע לְמַעְלָה, אֶלָּא קוֹלָם שֶׁל אֵלּוּ הָעוֹסְקִים בַּתּוֹרָה.

\n“יוֹנָתִי בְּחַגְוֵי הַסֶּלַע בְּסֵתֶר הַמַּדְרֵגָה הַרְאִינִי אֶת מַרְאַיִךְ הַשְׁמִיעִינִי אֶת קוֹלֵךְ כִּי קוֹלֵךְ עָרֵב וּמַרְאֵיךְ נָאוֶה.”
\n“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret places of the cliff, Let me see your face, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely.”
\nRabbi Yossi explains that the dove is the aspect of the Congregation of Israel<\/a> that is Malchut<\/a>. As a dove never leaves her mate, so the Congregation of Israel<\/a> never leaves the Holy One Blessed be He.
\nThe Torah scholars that never rest in this world hide in “the clefts of the rock” from their enemies. The modest Torah scholars are pious. They have fear of the Holy One Blessed be He, and the Shechina never leaves them. They hide “In the secret places of the cliff”, meaning that they hide their spiritual level from the people.
\nThe Holy One Blessed be He demands from the Congregation of Israel<\/a> for these scholars. He says “Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely”. The voice that can be heard in the upper levels is the voice of those who study the Torah.<\/p>\n

\nWe learned that the image of those who study the Torah at night is carved above in front of the Holy One Blessed be He, and he enjoys their presence all day.
\nThe voice from Malchut<\/a> goes up and pierces through all skies until it comes before the Holy One Blessed be He. Then it is written, “For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely”.
\nNow the Holy One Blessed be He carved the image of Rabbi Shimon above and his voice rises higher and higher and is crowned with the Holy Crown until the Holy One Blessed be He crowns and praises him in all worlds. It is written about him; Isaiah 49:3<\/a> “וַיֹּאמֶר לִי עַבְדִּי אָתָּה יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר בְּךָ אֶתְפָּאָר.” “And He said to me, ‘You are My servant, O Israel<\/a>, In whom I will be glorified.’”<\/p>\n
