123. כְּשֶׁהִסְתַּכֵּל דָּוִד הַמֶּלֶךְ בְּאוֹתָם דִּינֵי הָאָדָם כְּשֶׁמִּסְתַּלֵּק מֵהָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, הִקְדִּים וְאָמַר, (תהלים קג) בָּרְכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת ה’, עַד שֶׁלֹּא תֵצֵא מֵהָעוֹלָם, כָּעֵת שֶׁאַתְּ נִמְצֵאת עִם הַגּוּף. וְכָל קְרָבַי אֶת שֵׁם קָדְשׁוֹ, אַתֶּם הָאֵיבָרִים שֶׁמִּשְׁתַּתְּפִים בָּרוּחַ, כָּעֵת שֶׁהִיא נִמְצֵאת אִתְּכֶם, הַקְדִּימוּ לְבָרֵךְ אֶת הַשֵּׁם הַקָּדוֹשׁ עַד שֶׁלֹּא יַגִּיעַ זְמַן שֶׁלֹּא תוּכְלוּ לְבָרְכוֹ וּלְהוֹדוֹת עֲלֵיכֶם.

\nWhen King David saw the judgments that a person goes through upon their death, he said;
\nPsalms 103:1<\/a>
\n“לְדָוִד בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת יְהוָה וְכָל קְרָבַי אֶת שֵׁם קָדְשׁוֹ.”
\n“A Psalm of David. Bless YHVH<\/a>, O my soul; And all that is inside of me, bless His holy name!”
\nHe saw that before the soul leaves the body, it separates itself from all body organs. He tells them to bless the Holy name because after the soul leaves the body, they can’t do that.<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nwe should dedicate even our last breath to the Creator that brought us to this world and then asks for the soul to return to him.
\nThere is a story about a great Tzadik that was on his death bed, knowing that his soul would leave the body any moment. He asked his student to put some water in his mouth so he can say one last blessing. Even though he was a Tzadik with countless merits, he valued every blessing he could make before leaving this world.<\/p>\n

\nNumbers 6:2<\/a>
\n“דַּבֵּר אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם אִישׁ אוֹ אִשָּׁה כִּי יַפְלִא לִנְדֹּר נֶדֶר נָזִיר לְהַזִּיר לַיהוָה.”
\n“מִיַּיִן וְשֵׁכָר יַזִּיר חֹמֶץ יַיִן וְחֹמֶץ שֵׁכָר לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה וְכָל מִשְׁרַת עֲנָבִים לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה וַעֲנָבִים לַחִים וִיבֵשִׁים לֹא יֹאכֵל.”
\n“Speak to the children of Israel<\/a>, and say to them: ‘When either a man or woman consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to YHVH<\/a>,”
\n“he shall separate himself from wine and similar drink; he shall drink neither vinegar made from wine nor vinegar made from similar drink; neither shall he drink any grape juice, nor eat fresh grapes or raisins.”<\/p>\n

The Nazirite is a man who chose to dedicate himself to holiness. The Torah says that such a person should not drink any wine product. In addition, he is not allowed to eat fresh grapes or raisins.
\nThe Zohar raises why the Nazirite is not allowed to eat fresh grapes while the priest who has similar restrictions can still eat fresh grapes. What is the reason for that?<\/p>\n

Leviticus 10:9<\/a>
\n“יַיִן וְשֵׁכָר אַל תֵּשְׁתְּ אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ בְּבֹאֲכֶם אֶל אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְלֹא תָמֻתוּ חֻקַּת עוֹלָם לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם.”
\n“Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.”<\/p>\n
