265. כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֵת אֲשֶׁר תְּבָרֵךְ מְבֹרָךְ וְגוֹ’. וְכִי מֵאַיִן הָיָה יוֹדֵעַ? הֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהָ, שֶׁהֲרֵי בַּהַתְחָלָה כָּתוּב, (במדבר כא) וְהוּא נִלְחַם בְּמֶלֶךְ מוֹאָב הָרִאשׁוֹן וַיִּקַּח אֶת כָּל אַרְצוֹ מִיָּדוֹ. שֶׁשָּׂכַר אֶת בִּלְעָם וְכוּ’. אֲבָל כִּי יָדַעְתִּי, יְדִיעָה וַדַּאי יָדַע בְּחָכְמָתוֹ. אֵת אֲשֶׁר תְּבָרֵךְ מְבֹרָךְ וְגוֹ’, מַה צָּרִיךְ כָּאן בְּרָכָה, שֶׁהֲרֵי בִּשְׁבִיל קְלָלָה הָלַךְ? וְאִם אוֹתוֹ דָּבָר שֶׁהָיָה יוֹדֵעַ מִבִּלְעָם בַּהַתְחָלָה הָיָה קְלָלָה, מַה זֶּה אֵת אֲשֶׁר תְּבָרֵךְ מְבֹרָךְ?<\/div>\n
266. אֶלָּא דָּבָר זֶה לֹא יְדַעְתִּיו וְלֹא זָכִיתִי בוֹ עַד שֶׁבָּא רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר וְדָרַשׁ, (תהלים לד) אֲבָרְכָה אֶת ה’ בְּכָל עֵת תָּמִיד תְּהִלָּתוֹ בְּפִי. וְכָתוּב (שם טז) אֲבָרֵךְ אֶת ה’ אֲשֶׁר יְעָצַנִי. מִי (צָרִיךְ) שֶׁצָּרִיךְ בְּרָכָה מִן הַתַּחְתּוֹנִים. אֶת, שֶׁהֲרֵי נֶאֱחָז בָּהֶם כְּשַׁלְהֶבֶת בִּפְתִילָה. וְדָוִד שֶׁיָּדַע אֶת זֶה, אָמַר אֲבָרְכָה אֶת. אָמַר אוֹתוֹ רָשָׁע, אוֹתָהּ דַּרְגָּה שֶׁלָּהֶם, אֲחוּזָה בָהֶם בִּגְלַל בִּרְכוֹתֵיהֶם, שֶׁמְּבָרְכִים אוֹתָהּ בְּכָל יוֹם. כֹּחַ יֵשׁ לְךָ לְבָרֵךְ אֶת אוֹתָהּ דַּרְגָּה, וְתַעֲקֹר אוֹתָהּ מֵהֶם. וְזֶהוּ כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֵת אֲשֶׁר תְּבָרֵךְ מְבֹרָךְ וְגוֹ’. וּבָזֶה נוּכַל לָהֶם. תְּבָרֵךְ אֶת אוֹתָהּ דַּרְגָּה, וּתְקַלֵּל אֶת הַפְּתִילָה. וְעַל זֶה אָמַר וְאָנֹכִי אִקָּרֶה כֹּה, אֶעֱקֹֹר אוֹתָהּ מֵהֶם שֶׁלֹּא תֹאחַז בָּהֶם.<\/div>\n

Zohar Balak<\/strong>
\nNumbers 22:6<\/a>
\n“וְעַתָּה לְכָה נָּא אָרָה לִּי אֶת הָעָם הַזֶּה כִּי עָצוּם הוּא מִמֶּנִּי אוּלַי אוּכַל נַכֶּה בּוֹ וַאֲגָרְשֶׁנּוּ מִן הָאָרֶץ כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֵת אֲשֶׁר תְּבָרֵךְ מְבֹרָךְ וַאֲשֶׁר תָּאֹר יוּאָר.”
\n“Therefore please come at once, curse these people for me, for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”<\/p>\n

\n“for I know that he whom you bless is blessed” (Numbers 22:6<\/a>). The Zohar asks why Balak mentioned blessings when he planned to use Balaam to curse the Israelites<\/a>. He asks how Balak knew that Sihon, the king of the Amorites, hired Balaam to bless him to win and conquer the first King of Moab (Numbers 21:26<\/a>). Balak knew in his wisdom what Balaam is capable of.<\/p>\n

\nHe answers that this point was unknown until Rabbi Elazar explained the verses in Psalms 34:2<\/a>
\n“אֲבָרֲכָה אֶת יְהוָה בְּכָל עֵת תָּמִיד תְּהִלָּתוֹ בְּפִי.”
\n“I will bless YHVH<\/a> at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
\nAnd Psalms 16:7<\/a>
\n“אֲבָרֵךְ אֶת יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר יְעָצָנִי אַף לֵילוֹת יִסְּרוּנִי כִלְיוֹתָי.”
\n“I will bless YHVH<\/a> who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.”
\nThe word ‘אֶת’ next to the word ‘blessing’ in the two verses implies a relation of ‘blessings.’ Malchut<\/a> holds the Israelites<\/a> close to her like a flame to the candle because they praise and bless her every day.
\nBalak believed Balaam could connect with blessings to Malchut<\/a> and disconnect Israel<\/a>, the ‘flame,’ from the source, and he can take over.<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nThe Israelites<\/a> connect to the source of energy that keeps their ‘flames’ large and bright, giving them protection by pushing away all types of darkness.
\nThe Daily Zohar is the daily charge of our candles with ‘oil’ that is the Light of wisdom (Chokmah<\/a>) that we draw from the upper three sefirot.<\/p>\n
