270. וְעַל זֶה אָמַר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אַחַר כָּךְ, (יהושע ז) וּמַה תַּעֲשֵׂה לְשִׁמְךָ הַגָּדוֹל. שֶׁהֲרֵי וַדַּאי שֵׁם זֶה עִקַּר וִיסוֹד הַכֹּל, אַתָּה הוּא ה’. וּמֹשֶׁה, אַף עַל גַּב שֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא לֹא אָמַר לוֹ כָּךְ, יָדַע שֶׁזֶּה בָזֶה תָלוּי וְהַחֵטְא גוֹרֵם. וְאַתָּה אַל תִּירָא עַבְדִּי יַעֲקֹב וְגוֹ’, הַכֹּל אֶחָד. כִּי אִתְּךָ אֲנִי, הֲרֵי בֵּאַרְנוּ כִּי אִתִּי אַתָּה לֹא כָתוּב, אֶלָּא כִּי אִתְּךָ אָנִי. כִּי אֶעֱשֶׂה כָלָה בְּכָל הַגּוֹיִם, בְּכָל הַגּוֹיִם אֶעֱשֶׂה כָלָה.<\/div>\n
271. רַב הַמְנוּנָא הָרִאשׁוֹן אָמַר, דֹּחַק וְצָרוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל כַּמָּה טוֹב וְכַמָּה תוֹעֶלֶת גָרְמוּ לָהֶם. רִפְיוֹן שֶׁל שְׁאָר הָעַמִּים כַּמָּה רָעוֹת גָּרְמוּ לָהֶם. דֹּחַק וְצָרוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל גּוֹרֵם לָהֶם שֶׁטּוֹב יִהְיֶה וְתוֹעֶלֶת, וּמָהֵם? כָּלָה. הַכֹּל דָּחוּק. רִפְיוֹן שֶׁל שְׁאָר הָעַמִּים גּוֹרֵם לָהֶם רִפְיוֹן וְרַע, וְזֶהוּ כָלָה. וְכָךְ רָאוּי לָהֶם, שֶׁהֲרֵי כָּל רִפְיוֹן בְּלֹא דֹחַק שֶׁהָיָה לָהֶם בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, גּוֹרֵם לָהֶם רִפְיוֹן אַחַר כָּךְ בְּלִי דֹחַק. כָּלָה. Zohar Balak<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAfter Joshuah conquered Jericho, the people sinned and brought about the anger of Hashem<\/a>. They lost a battle, and Joshua asked Hashem<\/a> for support by referring to the connection of Israel<\/a> to the letter H ה of the Holy Name.
\nJoshua 7:9<\/a>
\n“וְיִשְׁמְעוּ הַכְּנַעֲנִי וְכֹל יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ וְנָסַבּוּ עָלֵינוּ וְהִכְרִיתוּ אֶת שְׁמֵנוּ מִן הָאָרֶץ וּמַה תַּעֲשֵׂה לְשִׁמְךָ הַגָּדוֹל.”
\n“For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear it, and surround us, and cut off our name from the earth. Then what will You do for Your great name?”
\nJoshua asks, “what will You do for Your great name?” referring to the YHVH<\/a> name and its connection to Israel<\/a>.
\nEven though Hashem<\/a> didn’t tell him, Moses knew the connection of Israel<\/a> to the Letter Hה of Malchut<\/a>. When the people sin, it causes a disconnection of Israel<\/a> from the Holy name.
\nIsaiah 43:5<\/a> “כי אתך אני,” “Fear not, for I am with you.” This statement by Hashem<\/a> indicates that Israel<\/a> is connected to the name.
\nJeremiah 30:11<\/a>
\n“כִּי אִתְּךָ אֲנִי נְאֻם יְהוָה לְהוֹשִׁיעֶךָ כִּי אֶעֱשֶׂה כָלָה בְּכָל הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר הֲפִצוֹתִיךָ שָּׁם אַךְ אֹתְךָ לֹא אֶעֱשֶׂה כָלָה וְיִסַּרְתִּיךָ לַמִּשְׁפָּט וְנַקֵּה לֹא אֲנַקֶּךָּ.”
\n“For I am with you to save you, declares YHVH<\/a>. Though I will completely destroy all the nations to which I have scattered you, I will not completely destroy you. Yet I will discipline you justly and will by no means leave you unpunished.”
\nIsrael<\/a> is protected and will never be destroyed, but they will be justly corrected if they sin.<\/p>\n

\nThe first Rav Hamnuna said that Israel<\/a> benefits from the stress and depression that they go through in this world. It leads them to a positive outcome.
\nThe word ‘destroy,’’כלה’ in “I will completely destroy (כָלָה) all the nations” There is no Dagesh<\/a> in the word to tell us the weakness of the other nations, while about Israel<\/a> it says “וְכַכַּלָּה תַּעְדֶּה כֵלֶיהָ” “ as a bride (כַּלָּה) adorneth herself with her jewels.” The word ‘bride’ ‘כַּלָּה’ is with Dagesh<\/a> implying, that the Shechina is with Israel<\/a>.<\/p>\n
