46. אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹסֵי, מַהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (ירמיה ב) כִּי שְׁתַּיִם רָעוֹת עָשָׂה עַמִּי אֹתִי עָזְבוּ מְקוֹר מַיִם חַיִּים לַחְצֹב לָהֶם בֹּארוֹת וְגוֹ’? אֹתִי עָזְבוּ מְקוֹר מַיִם חַיִּים – זֶהוּ מִי שֶׁלֹּא רוֹצֶה לְקַדֵּשׁ שֵׁם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בְּאָמֵן. מָה עָנְשׁוֹ? כָּתוּב לַחְצֹב לָהֶם בֹּארוֹת בֹּארֹת נִשְׁבָּרִים. שֶׁיּוֹרְדִים לַגֵּיהִנֹּם דַּרְגָּה אַחַר דַּרְגָּה, עַד שֶׁיּוֹרְדִים לַאֲבַדּוֹן שֶׁנִּקְרָא תַחְתִּית. וְאִם הוּא קִדֵּשׁ שֵׁם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא לְכַוֵּן בְּאָמֵן כָּרָאוּי, עוֹלֶה דַרְגָּה אַחַר דַּרְגָּה לְהִתְעַדֵּן מֵאוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם הַבָּא, שֶׁשּׁוֹפֵעַ תָּמִיד לֹא פוֹסֵק. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (תהלים לא) אֱמוּנִים נֹצֵר ה’ וּמְשַׁלֵּם עַל יֶתֶר עֹשֵׂה גַאֲוָה.<\/div>\n

\nJeremiah 2:13<\/a>
\n“כִּי שְׁתַּיִם רָעוֹת עָשָׂה עַמִּי אֹתִי עָזְבוּ מְקוֹר מַיִם חַיִּים לַחְצֹב לָהֶם בֹּארוֹת בֹּארֹת נִשְׁבָּרִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא יָכִלוּ הַמָּיִם.”
\n“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.”
\nRabbi Yehuda says that the people did wrong, not desiring a connection to the Amen and the name of the Holy One Blessed be He. The punishment is “They hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.” It is the aspect of going down in the levels of Gehennam<\/a>, all the way to Avadon<\/a>.
\nIf a person sanctifies the Holy name and properly makes the unification of אמן Amen, he climbs level after level to enjoy the delights of the world to come that has a continuous flow of light. On that, it is written,
\nPsalm 31:24<\/a>
\n“אֶהֱבוּ אֶת יְהוָה כָּל חֲסִידָיו אֱמוּנִים נֹצֵר יְהוָה וּמְשַׁלֵּם עַל יֶתֶר עֹשֵׂה גַאֲוָה.”
\n“Oh, love YHVH<\/a>, all you His saints! For YHVH<\/a> preserves the faithful, And fully repays (punishes) the proud person.”<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nThe words of Hashem<\/a> through the prophet Jeremiah reveal that people foolishly seek their own source of Light when all they need is a proper connection that can create a vessel for the Light.
\nMany people look for a way to draw light more easily, looking for shortcuts and physical tools to do Magic and get fulfillment. This is the aspect of ‘digging their own wells.’ The problem is that these wells are broken, dry, and connect to the darkness that would put them down into the lower levels of Gehennam<\/a> for a harsh correction. These ‘wells’ cannot hold water, which is the aspect of Light and life nourishments.
\nOnly with the unification of Light and vessel as the Zohar and the sages teach us that we can pave a path to a better future in this life, the after light and at the time of the Resurrection.<\/p>\n

We study the Zohar from the translations and commentaries of Rabbi Ashlag. He called his work ‘Hasulam,’ which means ‘The Ladder.’ When we study the Zohar, we add rungs to our ladder to guarantee us a better life, in this world, the next, and if we don’t see Mashiach in our lifetime, then we reap the benefits at the time of the Resurrection. <\/p>\n
