243. דָּבָר אַחֵר לוּ חָכְמוּ יַשְׂכִּילוּ זֹאת – שֶׁהִיא קְשׁוּרָה בָהֶם בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל. כַּאֲשֶׁר שׁוֹמְרִים מִצְווֹת הַתּוֹרָה וְיוֹשְׁבִים עִמָּהּ בְּשָׁלוֹם, יֵדְעוּ שֶׁעֶזְרָה שֶׁל זֹאת הַזּוֹ עִמָּהֶם, לְהִפָּרַע מִשּׂוֹנְאֵיהֶם. וְיִשְׂרָאֵל, שֶׁהֵם מְעַטִּים בֵּין הָאֻמּוֹת, יֵדְעוּ אֵיכָה יִרְדֹּף אֶחָד אֶלֶף וּשְׁנַיִם יָנִיסוּ רְבָבָה. וּמִי גָרַם לָהֶם? הַזֹּאת הַזּוֹ שֶׁהָיְתָה בֵינֵיהֶם בְּשָׁלוֹם כַּאֲשֶׁר עוֹשִׂים מִצְווֹת הַתּוֹרָה, וּלְעוֹלָמִים לֹא זָזָה מֵהֶם לַעֲשׂוֹת לָהֶם נְקָמוֹת.<\/div>\n
244. אִם לֹא כִּי צוּרָם מְכָרָם וַה’ הִסְגִּירָם (דברים לב). מָה הַטַּעַם כִּי צוּרָם מְכָרָם? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁצּוּר יְלָדְךָ תֶּשִׁי, שֶׁהַתִּקּוּנִים לֹא נִמְצָאִים כְּמוֹ שֶׁצָּרִיךְ בִּמְקוֹמָם. אִם לֹא כִּי צוּרָם מְכָרָם. אָמַר רַבִּי יְהוּדָה, זֶה אַבְרָהָם, כְּמוֹ שֶׁבֵּאַרְנוּ, שֶׁאָמַר אַבְרָהָם, יִתְחַיְּבוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּגָלוּת וְלֹא יִכָּנְסוּ בְגֵיהִנָּם, שֶׁשְּׁנֵי אֵלּוּ – גָּלוּת וְגֵיהִנָּם – לֹא יִסְבְּלוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל. וְהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא הִסְכִּים עַל יָדוֹ, שֶׁכָּל זְמַן שֶׁיִּתְחַיְּבוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל, יִפְּלוּ לְגָלוּת וְיִשְׁתַּעְבְּדוּ בָהֶם שׂוֹנְאֵיהֶם. וּמִשּׁוּם זֶה צוּרָם מְכָרָם, וַדַּאי, וַה’ הִסְגִּירָם, וְהִסְכִּים עַל יָדָיו.<\/div>\n

Deuteronomy 32:29<\/a>
\n“לוּ חָכְמוּ יַשְׂכִּילוּ זֹאת יָבִינוּ לְאַחֲרִיתָם.”
\n“Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would consider their latter end!”<\/p>\n

\nAnother explanation to “if they were wise.” They would understand that when Israel<\/a> connect to Malchut<\/a> ‘זֹאת’,’ This,’ and follow the laws of Torah, they would get the protection from ‘זֹאת,’’ This,’ the Shechina that would deal with their enemies. Israel<\/a> that is a minority among the nations of the world would know their power against the many, as it is written;
\nDeuteronomy 32:30<\/a>
\n“אֵיכָה יִרְדֹּף אֶחָד אֶלֶף וּשְׁנַיִם יָנִיסוּ רְבָבָה אִם לֹא כִּי צוּרָם מְכָרָם וַיהוָה הִסְגִּירָם.”
\n“How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight Unless their Rock had sold them, And YHVH<\/a> had surrendered them?”
\nBecause of their connection to the Torah, the Shechina ‘זֹאת’ in Malchut<\/a>, will never leave them and always take revenge on their enemies.

\nThe secret of “Unless their Rock had sold them, And YHVH<\/a> had surrendered them” is related to Abraham ‘their rock’. The Holy One Blessed be He agreed with Abraham that his children would rather experience the pain of exile rather than Gehennam<\/a>. While in exile, Israel<\/a> can make corrections and avoid the pain in Gehennam<\/a> that comes after death without options to correct. “YHVH<\/a> had surrendered them” means that Hashem<\/a> sends Israel<\/a> into exile when they are disconnected from him.<\/p>\n

\nRabbi Yehuda says Moses admonished Israel<\/a> in the song of Haazinu because they needed to hear this lesson before entering the Holy Land and having the Shechinah dwell with them.<\/p>\n
