56. הַבְדָּלָה בְּמוֹצָאֵי שַׁבָּת בֵּין אוֹתָם שֶׁשּׁוֹלְטִים בִּימֵי הַחֹל לְשַׁבָּת. וּכְשֶׁיּוֹצֵאת הַשַּׁבָּת, עוֹלֶה מִגֵּיהִנֹּם צַד אֶחָד מֵעַיִן הָרָעָה [ס”א מַשְׁחִית מְמֻנֶּה רַע] שֶׁרוֹצֶה לִשְׁלֹט בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁיִּשְׂרָאֵל אוֹמְרִים (תהלים צ) וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנָה עָלֵינוּ, וְיוֹצֵא מֵאוֹתָהּ דַּרְגָּה שֶׁנִּקְרֵאת שְׂמֹאל [שְׁאוֹל], וְרוֹצֶה לְהִתְעָרֵב בַּזֶּרַע שֶׁל יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלִשְׁלֹט עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל.<\/div>\n

\nThe Havdalah<\/a> that we do after Shabbat is to separate the forces that rule the weekdays and the holiness that rules Shabbat. Upon the exit of the Shabbat Light, when Israel<\/a> says the verse from Psalm 90:17<\/a>
\n“וִיהִי נֹעַם אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ עָלֵינוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנָה עָלֵינוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֵינוּ כּוֹנְנֵהוּ.”
\n“And let the beauty of YHVH<\/a>, our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.” a force with the aspect of the evil eye rises from one side of Genennam wishing to control the world.
\nThe evil eye is the source of all sides of the Sitra Achra<\/a>, Left and Right in the secret of Psalm 91:7<\/a>
\n“יִפֹּל מִצִּדְּךָ אֶלֶף וּרְבָבָה מִימִינֶךָ אֵלֶיךָ לֹא יִגָּשׁ.”
\n“A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.”
\nThe right of the evil eye is counted as thousands, and the left is counted as ten thousand.
\nPsalm 91:8<\/a>
\n“רַק בְּעֵינֶיךָ תַבִּיט וְשִׁלֻּמַת רְשָׁעִים תִּרְאֶה.”
\n“You will only look on with your eyes And see the retaliation against the wicked.”
\nWhen we look with good eyes and know between good and evil, we see the wicked get what they deserve. <\/p>\n

\nWhen Israel<\/a> recites the Havdalah<\/a> and bless the Myrtle and wine, they connect to the side of holiness, and the Sitra Achra<\/a> leaves them and returns to its place in the level of Sheol in Gehennam<\/a>. This process has the aspect of the separation from Korach and the people that followed him against Moses.
\nNumbers 16:21<\/a>
\n“הִבָּדְלוּ מִתּוֹךְ הָעֵדָה הַזֹּאת וַאֲכַלֶּה אֹתָם כְּרָגַע.”
\n“Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.”
\nHashem<\/a> asked the people to separate themselves from Korah then the earth opened and swallowed them alive into Gehennam<\/a>.
\nAfter Havdalah<\/a>, the Sitra Achra<\/a> returned to Sheol, but they will not be canceled until the Tikun<\/a> of the world was completed.<\/p>\n

Lesson;
\nConnection to the holiness, looking at the good aside of everything is an act of protection. If we were to follow the evil eye like the side of Korach, we might fall into the darkness of Gehennam<\/a>.
\nThe Havdalah<\/a> we make after Shabbat gives us this protection. Obviously, we need to connect to holiness during Shabbat to carry that Light throughout the week. We focus on our studies during Shabbat. <\/p>\n
