110. לְמֶלֶךְ שֶׁהִזְמִין אֲהוּבוֹ לִסְעוּדָה עֶלְיוֹנָה שֶׁעָשָׂה לוֹ לְיוֹם רָשׁוּם. אֲהוּב הַמֶּלֶךְ הֲרֵי יוֹדֵעַ שֶׁהַמֶּלֶךְ רוֹצֶה בּוֹ. אָמַר הַמֶּלֶךְ, כָּעֵת אֲנִי רוֹצֶה לִשְׂמֹחַ עִם אֲהוּבִי, וַאֲנִי חוֹשֵׁשׁ שֶׁכַּאֲשֶׁר אֲנִי בִּסְעוּדָה עִם אֲהוּבִי, יִכָּנְסוּ כָּל אוֹתָם פְּקִידִים מְמֻנִּים וְיֵשְׁבוּ עִמָּנוּ לַשֻּׁלְחָן לִסְעֹד סְעוּדַת הַשִּׂמְחָה עִם אֲהוּבִי. מֶה עָשָׂה? הִקְדִּים אוֹתוֹ אָהוּב מִינִים שֶׁל יְרָקוֹת וּבְשַׂר שְׁוָרִים וְהִקְרִיב לִפְנֵי אוֹתָם פְּקִידִים מְמֻנִּים לֶאֱכֹל. אַחַר כָּךְ יָשַׁב הַמֶּלֶךְ עִם אֲהוּבוֹ לְאוֹתָהּ הַסְּעוּדָה הָעֶלְיוֹנָה מִכָּל עִדּוּנֵי הָעוֹלָם. וּבְעוֹד שֶׁהוּא לְבַדּוֹ עִם הַמֶּלֶךְ, בִּקֵּשׁ מִמֶּנּוּ כָּל צְרָכָיו וְנָתַן לוֹ, וְשָׂמַח הַמֶּלֶךְ עִם אֲהוּבוֹ לְבַדּוֹ, וְלֹא הִתְעָרְבוּ אֲחֵרִים בֵּינֵיהֶם. כָּךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל עִם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא. לָכֵן כָּתוּב בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי עֲצֶרֶת תִּהְיֶה לָכֶם.
\n111. אָמְרוּ רַבִּי יוֹסֵי וְרַבִּי חִיָּיא, הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא הִתְקִין הַדֶּרֶךְ לְפָנֵינוּ. אַשְׁרֵי אוֹתָם שֶׁעוֹסְקִים בַּתּוֹרָה. בָּאוּ וּנְשָׁקוּהוּ. קָרָא עָלָיו רַבִּי יוֹסֵי, (ישעיה נד) וְכָל בָּנַיִךְ לִמּוּדֵי ה’ וְרַב שְׁלוֹם בָּנָיִךְ. כְּשֶׁהִגִּיעוּ לַשָּׂדֶה, יָשְׁבוּ. אָמַר אוֹתוֹ הָאִישׁ, מַה שּׁוֹנֶה שֶׁכָּתוּב (בראשית יט) וַה’ הִמְטִיר עַל סְדֹם וְעַל עֲמֹרָה וְגוֹ’, וּמַה שּׁוֹנֶה בַּמַּבּוּל שֶׁכָּתוּב אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהִים בְּכָל מָקוֹם, [לָמָּה] וְלֹא כָתוּב וַה’ [בַּכֹּל]?.
\n112. אֶלָּא שָׁנִינוּ, בְּכָל מָקוֹם שֶׁכָּתוּב וַה’ – הוּא וּבֵית דִּינוֹ. אֱלֹהִים סְתָם – דִּין לְבַדּוֹ. אֶלָּא בִּסְדֹם נַעֲשָׂה דִין וְלֹא לְהַשְׁמִיד עוֹלָם, וְלָכֵן הוּא הִתְעָרֵב בְּדִין, אֲבָל בַּמַּבּוּל הֻשְׁמַד כָּל הָעוֹלָם וְכָל אוֹתָם שֶׁנִּמְצְאוּ [בִּלְבַדּוֹ] בָּעוֹלָם.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\nIt’s like a king that invited his beloved one to a feast on a specific day to show his love to him. The King wanted to be alone with his beloved without any interference from the other ministers that may come and ask to share the feast with them.
\nThe King brought a special meal for the ministers and offered them cooked vegetables and ox meat. After that, the King prepared a feast on a supernal<\/a> level with all the delicate food of the world. While the King was alone, he inquired about the needs of his beloved and gave him with love and joy. The other ministers didn’t get involved with them. So is Israel<\/a> with the Holy One Blessed be He.<\/p>\n

\nRabbi Yossi and Rabbi Chiya said, the Holy One Blessed be He opened a path in front of us, how blessed are those who occupy themselves with the study of the Torah. They kissed the jew that initiated this study with them and quoted;
\nIsaiah 54:13<\/a>
\n“וְכָל בָּנַיִךְ לִמּוּדֵי יְהוָה וְרַב שְׁלוֹם בָּנָיִךְ.”
\n“All your children shall be taught by YHVH<\/a>, And great shall be the peace of your children.”<\/p>\n

When they arrived at a field, that person asked, what is the difference between the judgment of the Flood where the name ‘אֱלֹהִים’ ‘ELHYM’ is used, and the judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah where the name ‘יהוה’ ‘YHVH<\/a>’ is used.
\nGenesis 19:24<\/a>
\n“וַיהוָה הִמְטִיר עַל סְדֹם וְעַל עֲמֹרָה גָּפְרִית וָאֵשׁ מֵאֵת יְהוָה מִן הַשָּׁמָיִם.”
\n“Then YHVH<\/a> rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from YHVH<\/a> out of the heavens.”<\/p>\n

\nHe explains that when the name ELHYM is used as in the Flood, then it is only judgment because the destruction brought on the entire world, except for Noah and all that were protected inside the Ark.
\nYHVH<\/a> represented the aspect of Mercy with the judgment that was inflicted on Sodom and Gomorrah because only the wicked cities were destroyed.<\/p>\n
