\nExodus 15:26<\/a> “וַיֹּאמֶר אִם שָׁמוֹעַ תִּשְׁמַע לְקוֹל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ” “And He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of YHVH<\/a> your God.”
\nLeviticus 1:1<\/a> “וַיִּקְרָא אֶל מֹשֶׁה” “and he called Moses.”
\nWherever it is simply written “and he said” or “and he called” without telling who said or who called, it refers to the angel of the covenant, meaning the Shechina, and no other. When it says, “I will certainly return to you… shall have a son” without telling who, it is the angel of the covenant, and all is said about the Holy One Blessed be He. That is why it says in the same verse, “Sarah shall have a son,” which comes from the Holy One Blessed be He.<\/p>\n

\nHe asks, why does it say “a son to your wife Sarah,” and not just “you shall have a son.” He explains that Hashem<\/a> told it this way so Abraham won’t think that the son may come from Hagar, his maidservant that delivered his son, Ishmael.

\n“בֵּן יְכַבֵּד אָב וְעֶבֶד אֲדֹנָיו וְאִם אָב אָנִי אַיֵּה כְבוֹדִי וְאִם אֲדוֹנִים אָנִי אַיֵּה מוֹרָאִי אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת לָכֶם הַכֹּהֲנִים בּוֹזֵי שְׁמִי וַאֲמַרְתֶּם בַּמֶּה בָזִינוּ אֶת שְׁמֶךָ.”
\n“A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts To you priests<\/a> who despise My name. Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?'”
\nRabbi Shimon says that the “Son honors his father” from this verse refers to Isaac, who brought honor to his father, Abraham.<\/p>\n
