I make a vow, and I will no longer have thought of sin in my heart.<br>\nFrom then on, he did his business during the day, and at night he slept, and when he awoke from his sleep, he would call his brothers, and they would teach him the words of the Torah until daylight came. He grew in his Torah studies, and they would call him Yehuda &lsquo;the other.&rsquo;<br>\nRabbi Yeissa Sava met him one day and saw him sharing his property half for the poor and half he traded goods with merchants traveling by sea. Then he would sit and engage in Torah studies.<\/p>\n<p>Lesson;<br>\nYehuda had wealth and wasn&rsquo;t pure with his thoughts. He assumed that offering two turtledoves to the priest would be sufficient to cleanse himself. After he changed himself, he was called Yehuda &lsquo;the other.&rsquo; He was Yehuda before, and now he has become a different person. He continued to be very successful and decided to work only one day a year.<br>\nIt happened that on his working day, he was approached by a widow that knew his trading business and offered him some heavy barrels from her basement that her late husband left behind. The barrels were full of lead and tar. Even though he was not excited about the deal, he gave the widow a reasonable price and took the barrels with him. When he started melting the lead, he discovered tremendous gold and precious stones under the lead and tar. The husband was saving a treasure without the knowledge of his wife.<\/p>\n<p>Rabbi Yosef was honest, of course, and went back to the woman to tell her about the treasure he found, but the moment the woman saw him, she screamed at him and told him to leave her alone and that she didn&rsquo;t want to hear anything from him. He tried to tell her about the gold, but she told him, it&rsquo;s yours, go, and refused to talk to him. He went to Rabbi David ben Zimra ZT&rdquo; L, who was the authority in Saffad at this time, and the old rabbi told him that since he made all the efforts to return the gold to the woman, and she refused; he could take ownership of the treasure without hesitation. Rabbi Yosef Karo respected the decision but wanted an official Jewish court on the subject.
