And the Holy One, Blessed be He, took them for His service. And because they all saw so many miracles and signs with their own eyes, He said, &ldquo;And I am <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;YHVH&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The Holy Name&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=yhvh\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>YHVH<\/a> your God from the land of Egypt,&rdquo; where His glory was revealed to all. So that you may not say, another god spoke with us, but rather I am the One you saw in Egypt. I am the One who slew your enemies in Egypt. I am the One who performed all ten plagues in Egypt. From here, I learned something else. Whoever fulfills the soul of the poor, behold, even when his days come to depart from the world, the Holy One, Blessed be He, fills his soul and gives him more life.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Lesson;<br>\nThe Holy One, Blessed be He, &lsquo;deposit&rsquo; into our merits account immediately when we do good deeds. The &lsquo;poor&rsquo; referred to in the verse is the actual poor, and also, our soul is poor and needs the Light of <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;hashem&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;#039;Hashem&amp;#039; is a reference to the name of YHVH.We say Hashem &amp;#039;the Name&amp;#039; instead of the actual call to &amp;#039;YHVH&amp;#039; that is not allowed except when we read the Torah in full verses or in blessings.&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=hashem\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Hashem<\/a> to sustain its life in this world.&nbsp;<br>\nIf we hire someone to work for us, we should make sure that he gets his pay. If God forbid, the employer departs from the world, he leaves it with unpaid debt and would have to come back and pay his debts. The spiritual principle is valid for promises to give.&nbsp;<br>\nThere is a story about a tzadik who came to his son in a dream and asked him to return a small sum to a person he lent from because he cannot move up in the heavens because of this debt. Because he was a tzadik, he was allowed to come in a dream to his son. The son went to return the money, but the lender told him that he didn&rsquo;t care about the money. Nevertheless, the debt must be returned to clear the father&rsquo;s path to ascend in heaven.&nbsp;<br>\nThe Zohar teaches us that fulfilling the soul of the &lsquo;poor&rsquo; is an aspect of Tzedaka, nourishing him with Light.
