or &quot;braita&quot;) is a term in Jewish rabbinic literature that refers to teaching outside of the Mishnah, the first major written redaction of the Jewish oral traditions known as the Oral Torah. The Mishnah, compiled by Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi around 200 CE, is the foundational text of the Talmud. However, not all oral teachings were included in the Mishnah, and those that were left out are termed &quot;baraitot&quot; (plural for baraita). Baraitot were compiled in the Tosefta, a compilation of Jewish oral law from the late 2nd century, the period of the Mishnah, and they are also frequently cited in the Gemara—the component of the Talmud that comprises rabbinical analysis of and commentary on the Mishnah. The term &quot;baraita&quot; literally means &quot;outside&quot; (Aramaic: ברא &quot;outside&quot;, תא &quot;it&quot;), indicating that these teachings are outside of the Mishnah&#039;s canon. They are considered authoritative and are often used by the Amoraim (Talmudic sages from the 3rd to 5th centuries) to support or refute arguments, elucidate Mishnaic teachings, or introduce new teachings in the Gemara&#039;s discussions. The fact that baraitot were not included in the Mishnah does not imply that they are less important or authoritative; rather, they represent additional traditions or laws that were preserved and transmitted alongside the Mishnah and that provide a broader understanding of Talmudic law and discussions.<\/div>\" href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=baraita\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{"attribute":"data-cmtooltip", "format":"html"}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Baraita<\/a> (the authors of early rabbinic teachings) at the time they revealed the secret of this verse, I would not have separated from them until I knew everything, for I see profound depth in their words. Compared to the soul, the body is referred to as a ‘wife.’ The soul instructed Metat– not to enter into another body, a foreign body, or a body that is unworthy of it, but only into the very same body that is its own—the one from which it originally departed. This is the meaning of the verse: “כִּי אִם אֶל אַרְצִי וְאֶל מוֹלַדְתִּי תֵּלֵךְ” “Only to my land and my birthplace shall you go” (Genesis 24:4<\/a>).
\nThe sages taught:” עתידים המתים להחיות במומם שלא יאמרו אחר הוא” “The dead will arise with their defects, so it will not be said, ‘This is someone else.'” The meaning is that the resurrected body will appear in the same form as it was when they were part of the Endless (Ein Sof, Blessed be He). Therefore, the soul binds Metat– with the oath, “To my land and my birthplace you shall go,”—referring to my original body, which remains preserved through the secret of the <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"<div class=glossaryItemTitle>Luz bone<\/div><div class=glossaryItemBody>The &#039;Luz bone&#039; is a small bone in the body that never decays in the grave.
