Therefore, a person must stir their inclination every day and remind themselves of that day when they will stand in judgment before the Holy King. They will be brought beneath the earth to decay, and the soul will separate from the body.<br>\nNotes:<br>\nThe anticipation of the judgment and the inevitability of death serve as a call for daily introspection and the rectification of one&rsquo;s actions.<\/p>\n<p>#195<br>\nWe have learned that a person should always stir the good inclination against the evil inclination and strive to overcome it. If the evil inclination leaves them, it is good. And if not, they should engage in Torah study, for there is nothing that can break the evil inclination except the Torah. If the evil inclination departs, it is good. And if not, they should remind it of the day of death to subdue it.<\/p>\n<p>Notes:<br>\nThis Zohar teaching outlines a three-step approach to overcoming the evil inclination (&#1497;&#1510;&#1512; &#1492;&#1512;&#1506;). First, one should activate and empower their good inclination (&#1497;&#1510;&#1512; &#1492;&#1496;&#1493;&#1489;) to confront the evil inclination directly. If this is insufficient, engaging in Torah study is the most powerful tool to subdue the negative desires, as the sanctity and wisdom of the Torah counteract spiritual negativity.
