The Zohar explains: There was one frog, and it multiplied until the land was filled with them. All the frogs willingly threw themselves into the fire, as it is written: &ldquo;&#1493;&#1468;&#1489;&#1456;&#1514;&#1463;&#1504;&#1468;&#1493;&#1468;&#1512;&#1462;&#1497;&#1498;&#1464; &#1493;&#1468;&#1489;&#1456;&#1502;&#1460;&#1513;&#1473;&#1456;&#1488;&#1458;&#1512;&#1493;&#1465;&#1514;&#1462;&#1497;&#1498;&#1464;&rdquo;&mdash;&rdquo;and into your ovens and into your kneading troughs&rdquo; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/Exodus.7.28?lang=bi&amp;with=all&amp;lang2=en\" target=\"_blank\">Exodus 7:28<\/a>). What did they (the frogs) say? &ldquo;We came through fire and water, and You brought us out to great abundance&rdquo; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/Psalms.66.12?lang=bi&amp;with=all&amp;lang2=en\" target=\"_blank\">Psalms 66:12<\/a>).<br>\nAnd if you ask, &ldquo;What difference did it make to the Egyptians that these frogs entered the fire?&rdquo; the answer is this: All the frogs entered the fire, went into the ovens, and did not die. As for those that did die, here is what happened: Bread was baking in the ovens, and the frogs entered the bread and split apart, birthing others that were absorbed into the bread.<br>\nWhen the Egyptians ate this bread, the frogs returned to life within their stomachs, jumping, croaking, and making noise until the Egyptians perished. This plague was more severe for them than all the others.<br>\nCome and see: It is written, &ldquo;&#1493;&#1456;&#1513;&#1473;&#1464;&#1512;&#1463;&#1509; &#1492;&#1463;&#1497;&#1456;&#1488;&#1465;&#1512; &#1510;&#1456;&#1508;&#1463;&#1512;&#1456;&#1491;&#1468;&#1456;&#1506;&#1460;&#1497;&#1501;&hellip; &#1493;&#1468;&#1489;&#1456;&#1499;&#1464;&#1492; &#1493;&#1468;&#1489;&#1456;&#1506;&#1463;&#1502;&#1468;&#1456;&#1498;&#1464; &#1493;&#1468;&#1489;&#1456;&#1499;&#1464;&#1500; &#1506;&#1458;&#1489;&#1464;&#1491;&#1462;&#1497;&#1498;&#1464; &#1497;&#1463;&#1506;&#1458;&#1500;&#1493;&#1468; &#1492;&#1463;&#1510;&#1468;&#1456;&#1508;&#1463;&#1512;&#1456;&#1491;&#1468;&#1456;&#1506;&#1460;&#1497;&#1501;&rdquo;&mdash;&rdquo;The Nile shall swarm with frogs&hellip; and they shall come up against you, and against your people, and against all your servants&rdquo; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/Exodus.7.28?lang=bi&amp;with=all&amp;lang2=en\" target=\"_blank\">Exodus 7:28<\/a>-29). Three mentions of &ldquo;Pharaoh&rdquo; appear in this verse. The first refers to Pharaoh of that time (in the story of Abraham and Sarah). The second hints at Pharaoh during the time of <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Yosef HaTzadik&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Yosef (Joseph) HaTzadikChariot for the Sefirah of Yessod, Light of sustenance. &amp;lt;strong&amp;gt;Tomb of Joseph in Shechem, Israel &amp;lt;\/strong&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=yosef-hatzadik\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Joseph<\/a>.
