As they were walking, they saw a man approaching with a particular mark on his face. Rabbi Abba said: &ldquo;Let us turn away from this path, for the face of this man bears witness against him&mdash;that he has transgressed the forbidden sexual relations (&#1506;&#1512;&#1497;&#1493;&#1514;) mentioned in the Torah. And therefore, this mark has been inscribed upon his face.&rdquo; Rabbi Yossi said, &ldquo;If this man had this mark from the time he was a child, then what transgression of forbidden relations could have been with him already?&rdquo; Rabbi Abba replied: &ldquo;I see, from his face, testimony that he has indeed transgressed the forbidden relations listed in the Torah.&rdquo;<br>\nNotes:<br>\nSpiritual actions leave physical and spiritual imprints on a person. Serious sins&mdash;especially violations involving sanctity and purity&mdash;can be seen by the spiritually perceptive.
