I was asked by a friend (Thank you Sebastian) to write a few words about the special six weeks that is called "Shovavim", "שובבים". Most people are not aware of that and even if they heard the name, they don’t give it much significance or spiritual value. The opposite is true.
\n Here are some important facts on Shovavim that I will tie up together at the end of this article.
\n The word Shovavim came from the initials of the six portions, Shemot, Vaera, Bo, Beshalach, Yitro and Mishpatim. <\/p>\n

All holidays and special event days are specified by exact Hebrew calendar dates. The Shovavim begins with the reading of the portion of Shemot. So basically it starts in the afternoon of the Shabbat that we read the last portion of Bereshit, VaYechi. On that afternoon we read three small segments of the parasha of Shemot and they are at the level of Chokmah<\/a>, Binah<\/a> and Da’at of Shemot.
\n This is the letter ש, Shin, of שמות Shemot and is the aspect of three Vavs and the three columns<\/a> of the tree of Life<\/a>. The Shin represents the element of fire, which is a spiritual tool of transformation.
\n Shemot begins the second book of the Torah that is at the level of Chokmah<\/a> of Zeir Anpin<\/a> (The Torah). The number Six for the number of portions connects us to Yessod<\/a> and the central column. <\/p>\n

The six portions tell us about the process of the first redemption and getting out of the exile in Egypt. It was the time that Zeir Anpin<\/a> (Vav = 6) was growing its light for the revelation on mount Sinai. The fifth week, is the portion of Yitro, where we read about the receiving of the Torah with the Ten Commandments. Also during this period we have the holiday of "Rosh Hashanah for the Tree", "Tu B’Shvat".
\n The fact that Shovavim is based on the time the portions are read means for us that the Torah reading is as important as a holiday. <\/p>\n

We connect, through the Torah readings in this period to the process of Redemption with all the miracles that happened in the process of getting the Israelites<\/a> out of Egypt. We read about the miracle of the splitting of the Red Sea, the manna, the water, receiving the Torah and other miracles and wonders.
\n The six weeks are 42 days of opportunities for us to expand the vessel by cleansing it. The root word for Teshuvah<\/a> is in the word Shovavim and it helps us connect to the Holiday of the Tree of Life<\/a>, Tu B’Shevat that occurs in the last week of this period.<\/p>\n

The Holy Ari reveals to us that during these days we can take back the sparks of light that we lost to the Klipa<\/a>. For that purpose he gave us a special name to add during the silent connection (Amidah). With the blessing that is at the level of Hod<\/a> we add the name חבו to the יהוה and it can be found in the kabbalistic prayer books.<\/p>\n

Hod<\/a> is the level that closes and defines the vessel. When it is clean, Yessod<\/a> that is just below Hod<\/a> can wrap the light in the vessel and bring it down to Malchut<\/a>.
\n Many Kabbalists used to fast many days during this period especially on Mondays and Thursdays, days that the Torah is read during the morning prayers.<\/p>\n

All of us should focus on being in our perfect behavior and not to let negativity take away from us any earned light. Every day, before going to sleep, we should confess all our ‘impurities’ to ourselves and set a plan to correct them.
\n Our personal corrections cleanse us on the unit level; but it also affects the global Tikkun and the whole world. <\/p>\n

Me pidió un amigo (Gracias Sebastian) que escribiera unas pocas palabras acerca de las singulares seis semanas que se llaman "Shovavim". La mayoría de la gente no es consciente de ello y aun cuando oyeron el nombre, no le dan mucha importancia o valor espiritual. Lo contrario es cierto.\n

Aquí están algunos hechos importantes sobre Shovavim que voy a unir al concluir este artículo.
\nLa palabra Shovavim  deriva de las iniciales de las seis partes (parashiot), Shemot, Vaera, Bo, Beshalaj, Itró y Mishpatim.<\/p>\n

Todos los días festivos y los días especiales se especifican las exactas fechas en el calendario hebreo.  Shovavim comienza con la lectura de la parasha Shemot. Así que básicamente se inicia en la tarde del Shabat cuando se lee la última parte de Bereshit, Vayeji. Por la tarde leemos tres pequeños segmentos de la parashá Shemot y que están en el nivel de Jojma, Bina y Daat de Shemot.
\nEsta es la letra ש, Shin, de שמות Shemot y es el aspecto de tres vav y las tres columnas del árbol de la vida. La Shin representa el elemento fuego, que es una herramienta de transformación espiritual.
\nCon Shemot comienza el segundo libro de la Torá que está en el nivel de Jojma de Zeir Anpin<\/a> (La Torá). El número seis el número de porciones que nos conecta con Iesod y la columna central.<\/p>\n

Las seis porciones  (perashiot) nos cuentan sobre el proceso de la primer redención y el salir del exilio en Egipto. Fue el momento en que Zeir Anpin<\/a> (Vav = 6) estaba en el crecimiento de su luz de la revelación en el monte Sinaí. La quinta semana, es la porción de Itró, donde leemos respecto de la recepción de la Torá con los Diez Mandamientos. También durante este período tenemos la fiesta de "Rosh Hashaná para el árbol", "Tu Bishvat".
\nEl hecho que Shovavim está basado en cuando las partes se leen significa para nosotros que la lectura de la Torá es tan importante como un día de fiesta.<\/p>\n

Nos conectamos a través de la lectura de la Torá en este período para el proceso de redención con todos los milagros que sucedieron en el proceso de la salida de egipto de los israelitas. Leemos acerca del milagro de la partición del Mar Rojo, el maná, el agua, recepción de la Torá y otros milagros y maravillas.
\nLas seis semanas son 42 días de oportunidades para que podamos expandir la vasija en un proceso de limpieza. La raíz de la palabra Teshuvá está en la palabra Shovavim y nos ayuda a conectar con la Fiesta del Árbol de la Vida, Tu B’Shevat que se produce en la última semana de este período.<\/p>\n

El Santo Ari nos revela que durante estos días podemos recuperar las chispas de luz que hemos perdido a la Klipa<\/a>. Con ese fin, nos dio un nombre especial para agregar durante la conexión silenciosa la Amidá. Con la bendición que está en el nivel de Hod<\/a> nosotros agregamos el nombre de ובח al הוהי y esto se puede encontrar en los libros de oraciones cabalísticas.<\/p>\n

Hod<\/a> es el nivel en que se cierra y define la vasija. Cuando está Iesod limpia, que está justo debajo de Hod<\/a> puede envolver la luz en el recipiente y llevarla hasta Maljut.
\nMuchos cabalistas ayunaban varios días durante este período, especialmente los lunes y jueves, días en los que se lee la Torá durante la oración de la mañana.<\/p>\n

Todos nosotros deberíamos centrarnos en el comportamiento perfecto y no deje que la negatividad aleje de nosotros cualquier luz obtenida. Cada día, antes de ir a dormir, debemos confesar todos nuestras «impurezas» para nosotros y para establecer un plan para corregirlas.
