Genesis 3:21<\/a>
\n“וַיַּעַשׂ יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים לְאָדָם וּלְאִשְׁתּוֹ, כָּתְנוֹת עוֹר—וַיַּלְבִּשֵׁם”
\n“And YHVH<\/a> God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins, and clothed them.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar tells us that after Adam sinned, he regretted his action and with that he created a returning light that reconnected him to the level of Binah<\/a> and Chokmah<\/a>. Then God could make garments for him to protect him in his new state of being.<\/p>\n

The aspect of this action is given to us in the Mitzvah of wearing Tefi’lin, phylacteries.They are made out of three elements;
\n1. The housing, which is the vessel, made out of one piece of leather that represents the garments that God made for Adam
\n2. The inner mini scrolls that have special Torah text scribed on leather. This represents our inner light.
\n3. The straps, also made from one piece, even though they come down on both sides of the body.<\/p>\n

With this tool man restores the connection of upper and lower. This is done every morning in the frame of Chessed<\/a> but not on Shabbats and holidays when the spiritual energy is on a higher level.<\/p>\n

Women do not need this connection but it is not forbidden for them to wear it. The Talmud says that Michal, the daughter of King Saul, used to wear Tefilin.<\/p>\n
