\nTikkun 5<\/strong> – 5<\/p>\n

The Zohar continues the study of this verse.<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 21:23<\/a>
\n“לֹא-תָלִין נִבְלָתוֹ עַל-הָעֵץ, כִּי-קָבוֹר תִּקְבְּרֶנּוּ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא–כִּי-קִלְלַת אֱלֹהִים, תָּלוּי; וְלֹא תְטַמֵּא, אֶת-אַדְמָתְךָ, אֲשֶׁר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ, נֹתֵן לְךָ נַחֲלָה”
\n“his corpse shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shall surely bury him the same day; for he that is hanged is a reproach unto God; that thou defile not thy land which YHVH<\/a> thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.”<\/p>\n

The second word in the verse, “תָלִין” means ‘to stay over night’, ‘allow to dwell’. The word for Hotel, מלון, comes from the same root word. The word for ‘corpse’, ‘cadaver’, is also means נבל that is the description for a negative person.<\/p>\n

The Zohar tells as that a teacher that doesn’t make his students pure is like creating an idol that has body but without life or energy. He is then called נבל, (pronounced Na-val), a negative person.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 65:22<\/a>
\n“כִּי-כִימֵי הָעֵץ יְמֵי עַמִּי, וּמַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵיהֶם יְבַלּוּ בְחִירָי. ”
\n“for as the days of a tree shall be the days of My people, and Mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.”<\/p>\n

In another aspect of understanding to the first verse above, the Zohar tells us that the Israelites<\/a> are the aspect of the Tree and the Erev Rav are the aspect of the corpse, that has no life. They ‘dwell’ inside the Israelites<\/a> to take from their energy like in the sin of the Golden Calf.<\/p>\n

The Erev Rav took the gold from the Israelites<\/a> and created the Golden Calf that has two faces, one of a donkey that represent the Erev Rav and the negative side and one of an ox that is from the pure Gold that was touched by Moses and Aaron.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Eliezer ben Hurcanus, the teacher of Rabbi Akiva, in the book ‘Pirkei D’rabbi Eliezer (Chapters of Rabbi Eliezer), reveal to us that the Erev Rav used a Gold piece with the shape of an Ox on it. It was used by Moses to reveal and bring out the bones of Joseph<\/a> that were concealed under the river Nile. It gave the Calf the special powers that drew 3000 Israelites<\/a> to kiss and worship it.<\/p>\n

The verse below reveals the connection to the Golden Calf sin and the two faces of Ox and Donkey.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 1:3<\/a>
\n“יָדַע שׁוֹר קֹנֵהוּ, וַחֲמוֹר אֵבוּס בְּעָלָיו; יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא יָדַע, עַמִּי לֹא הִתְבּוֹנָן”
\n“The ox knoweth his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib; but Israel<\/a> doth not know, My people doth not consider.”<\/p>\n
