\nבְּתוֹךְ כַּמָּה אוּכְלוּסִין וֶהֱרִימָם עַל הָרֹמַח לְעֵינֵי כָּל
\nיִשְׂרָאֵל, כְּשֶׁרָאָה שֵׁבֶט שִׁמְעוֹן, בָּאוּ אֵלָיו בְּכַמָּה
\nאוּכְלוּסִין. פָּרְחָה מִמֶּנּוּ נִשְׁמָתוֹ, וּשְׁתֵּי נְשָׁמוֹת

\nמֹשֶׁה קַח אֶת כָּל רָאשֵׁי הָעָם וְהוֹקַע אוֹתָם לַה’ נֶגֶד

Pinchas 73-75<\/strong>
\n(related Zohar text begins on DZ 1095)<\/p>\n

Rabbi Elazar came to his father, Rabbi Shimon while he was studying
\nthe portion of Pinchas. He raised a question saying, if Pinchas was
\nalive when his uncles Nadav and Avihu<\/a> died then how come he received
\ntheir souls with reincarnation. Rabbi Shimon answered telling him that this is a great secret and explained that when the souls of Nadav and Avihu<\/a> were taken from them, they were not ready for incarnation because they didn’t have children and couldn’t be part of the upper priesthood.<\/p>\n

Children bring the aspect of continuation of life in the world and make the parents channel of light, fulfilling the first command of “be fruitful and multiply”.<\/p>\n

Numbers 3:4<\/a>
\n“וַיָּמָת נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא לִפְנֵי יְהוָה בְּהַקְרִבָם אֵשׁ זָרָה
\nלִפְנֵי יְהוָה, בְּמִדְבַּר סִינַי, וּבָנִים, לֹא-הָיוּ לָהֶם ”
\n“And Nadab and Abihu<\/a> died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children”<\/p>\n

After Pinchas killed Zimri and Kozbi, he saw the people from the tribe of Zimri coming to him with anger in order to kill him. His soul left his body out of fright. At that time the souls of Nadav and Avihu<\/a> came and blended with the soul of Pinchas and all went back into his body. Because of that, Pinchas restored his priesthood that was lost with the act of killing. That situation gave the souls of Nadav and Avihu<\/a> opportunity to finish their Tikkun.<\/p>\n

Numbers 25:11<\/a>
\n“פִּינְחָס בֶּן-אֶלְעָזָר בֶּן-אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן, ”
\n“’Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest,”<\/p>\n

Rabbi Shimon tells us that the appearance of the words ‘the son of’ being twice in this verse above implies a connection between Pinchas and the souls of Nadav and Avihu<\/a>. Normally it would be enough to say ‘Pinchas the son of Elazar’ without adding unnecessary reference but in this case there was a good reason.<\/p>\n

In another place in the Zohar rabbi Shimon teaches us that there is no unnecessary or unimportant letter in the Torah. All of them contain great secrets. When we study the Torah with the Zohar, we open these secrets and reveal their lights.<\/p>\n
