רַעְיָא מְהֵימְנָא (רוֹעֶה הַנֶּאֱמָן)
\n86. וּבְחִבּוּר רִאשׁוֹן אָמַר הָרוֹעֶה הַנֶּאֱמָן, מְנוֹרָה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה, יָפֶה אָמְרוּ רַבִּי אַבָּא וְרַבִּי חִיָּיא וְרַבִּי יוֹסֵי, אֲבָל (תהלים קג) כִּי רוּחַ עָבְרָה בּוֹ וְאֵינֶנּוּ – כָּאן צָרִיךְ לִפְתֹּחַ בִּדְבָרִים, מַה זֶּה עָבְרָה בּוֹ? זוֹ עֶבְרָה וְזַעַם וְצָרָה, אֶחָד מֵאוֹתָם מַלְאָכִים רָעִים.
\n87. שֶׁמִשּׁוּם שֶׁלֹּא יָדְעוּ בּוֹ אוֹתָם בַּעֲלֵי חֲטָאִים, צָרִיךְ לַעֲשׂוֹת לוֹ שִׁנּוּי מָקוֹם וְשִׁנּוּי הַשֵּׁם וְשִׁנּוּי מַעֲשֶׂה, כְּמוֹ אַבְרָהָם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בּוֹ (בראשית יב) לֶךְ לְךָ מֵאַרְצְךָ וּמִמּוֹלַדְתְּךָ – הֲרֵי שִׁנּוּי מָקוֹם. Psalms 103:16<\/a>
\n“ כִּי רוּחַ עָבְרָה-בּוֹ וְאֵינֶנּוּ; וְלֹא-יַכִּירֶנּוּ עוֹד מְקוֹמוֹ.”
\n“For the wind (spirit, soul) passed (עֶבְרָה) in it, and it is gone; and the place thereof knoweth it no more.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar brings another explanation to this verse and says that עברה (passed) is a name of a negative angel that observes and registers the ‘sins’ of the person.
\nPsalms 78:49<\/a>
\n“ יְשַׁלַּח-בָּם, חֲרוֹן אַפּוֹ–עֶבְרָה וָזַעַם וְצָרָה מִשְׁלַחַת, מַלְאֲכֵי רָעִים.”
\n“He sent forth upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath (עֶבְרָה), and indignation (זַעַם), and trouble (צָרָה), a sending of messengers (Angels) of evil.”<\/p>\n

The only way to get rid of our negative angels and negative past is to go through a major transformation that involves change of name, change of place and change of actions.<\/p>\n

Only then we would be ‘gone’ from that angel’s list and he can not use our past against us.<\/p>\n
